As I tamed the cats of mine that were ferals, I noticed that the males 'tamed' faster than the females(atleast my cats did...I'm not sure about all cats). As I result I have ended up prefering males over females. In fact the 6 I'm keeping are all male except for 1!
So what about you? Do you prefer male or female??

I have always been around and had females so I guess I have to say females since I dont have experience with male cats.

I also consider all cats female

My kitties are both boys- they are my little love bugs. I've had females in the past, and they always seemed more aloof and independant. My boys are on a lap, if there is one to be found.

I have 1 of each so I just chose it doesn't matter...I do have to say, with my own experience, males are more affectionate, but that is just in my case.

Wow.. really?? Zoey is not a cuddle bug
And she is pretty independent as far as liking to have her own space. However she usually has to be in the same room with me and near me. I always wanted my own cat to crawl all over me at night and snuggle in my lap.....

*wondering if I should have gotten a male

I chose that it doesn't matter what sex they are. I've been mostly around females...Bud's my first boy. Honestly, I don't see a difference in their personalities or who is more calm and etc. I think a lot of it has to do with the cats...they all are unique and have different quirks.

I wouldn't think that at all..I think the females just have that independent streak in them, but I am sure there are some that are affectionate...Rocky has been soo lovey dovey since the day we brought him home from the animal shelter...Fluffy, she just tends to mind her own business,a nd she will come lay by us and every once in a while let you pet her without nipping at your hands, but she just has that "wild" streak in her I guess you could say..Zoey looks so affectionate though...

Yeah she is affectionate in terms of headbonking my legs constantly and my arms
I like that. But if I try to pick her up or hug her sometimes she whines ... "mrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrow"

I used to not even be able to KISS her at all. She was very different when I got her from the shelter. Now she actually lets me kiss her without bitching.

my cats a male and not very affectionate unless he wants something.. but i think being outside in the blizzard fried his brain or something because he's neurotic even for a cat. Almost all of my other cats have been female and I've had everything from one who doesn't EVER want attention to one who won't leave me alone & has to snuggle CONSTANTLY. I think it just depends on the cat..

No preference. I have 2 boys and 1 girl, and they've all been equally lovey and demanding for long cuddles and scritches. Kayla is a little more standoffish to strangers, takes a while to warm up, while Mozart's in the thick of it immediately. But I'd like to think it's more their personalities.

I have mostly males but also females , I like both . Some females snuggle much and even sleep with me , one unter the bed cover and there are 2 they want to snuggle when they want to . But so are some of my males , I got 2 males they don't like to snuggles at all but are next to me . I think each cat is just different , just like we humans are .

I like them both but tend to get the females. I guess I'm sort of afraid of getting a male that sprays. It seems to occur more often with the males. Maybe I'm all wet but it's been my experience. <sigh>

I have 1 male and 2 females. I prefer the female because I have had bad luck with males spraying even after they have been neutered.

The rabbit kick!

Poor Tiki..she's such a weakling. Tiki doesn't use her claws either...since her previous owners declawed all 4 paws!
I am shocked though...she never bites. Even when she does, you can't even feel it. It's like she never mastered that art...thank God!

I've gotta get a pic of her doing the Rabbit Kick Thing! It's just too cute!
