Good morning!

I recently had to buy a new USB hub for my computer. My old one died so for a while I couldn't use my keyboard, webcam, universal card reader/writer, or one of my external hard drives. So I started wondering:

How many USB slots do you have on your computer, and how many do you use?

I have 12 and I have them all in use. Printer, 3 external hard drives, webcam, card reader, keyboard, mouse, ipod charger, phone connection, external blu ray player, and my Nintendo wifi connection for my Wii.

4, 2.0 slots on the back, 2, 1.0 slots on the front, and 2, 2.0 slots on the back of my keyboard.

Mouse, keyboard and wireless plugged into back of computer.

I occasionally use the keyboard hub for cellphone, and cameras.

3 on my laptop. I don't use any of them unless I have something plugged in. Right now, my blackberry is plugged in transferring music.

No computer, laptop. 3 USB ports. I prefer the mousepad in the laptop, so don't use an extrnal (DH does). I use one all the time for the air card (no DSL here
). Otherwise I only need 'em for the camera, the cardreader, the external drive, the phone, or for charging stuff, so none are used permanently. I do like that one of them is a ... I don't know what you call it. But one that can charge stuff even when the laptop is off but if plugged in.

4 on the back of my iMac. My keyboard and mouse are wireless so no need for USB for them.

They're occasionally in use when I charge my phone or iTouch. When I need to use my printer, I plug it in (I don't have a desk, so printer is stored in the closet until I need it. I should get a wireless printer!)

I think there's 8....six in the back two in the front (wish there were more in the front).

Mouse, trackball (for graphics), floppy drive (don't use it that often), scanner, printer, keyboard, iPod, android

I remove the iPod and phone and plug back in when needed.

I have four on my desktop, two in the front of the computer, and two in the back. One of the front ones is broken, however, so it's useless. I have my scanner and my wireless mouse in the two in the back, and I leave the one on the front open and use it for multiple things (syncing my iPhone, transferring stuff from my USB key or external hard drive, etc.).

My netbook has three, and there's nothing in any of them on a permanent basis, again I just attach my iPhone, USB key, external hard drive, etc.
