I have been caring for a free ranging female cat. I am technically not supposed to have pets where I live, but want to help this kitty. I gave her a front line flea and tick treatment about a month ago that knocked out her serious case of fleas. When I returned from vacation I noticed she was pregnant. Although I can't let her in, I want to care for her and her kittens as best I can. Hopefully she will have them on my porch. When I need to giver her a front line treatment again, will it harm the kittens? Will the kittens be protected? I assume I should not give it to the kittens.

I plan on giving away the kittens and getting her spayed once the time is right.

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

You do have sound plans!

so you use Frontline? Frontline has been used very long time, I dont think there are many complaints, on unwelcome effects.

I refreshed my memory looking at the page of the handbook of medicines of Swedish Drug and medical.

they dont recommend giving frontline to sick animals, but dont mind moms with unborn nor born kittens.

Of course, try no other cat or dog licks her a couple of hours, and preferably, best she doesnt wash herself either...
Spot on - or spray. Spray works good, but may be more difficult to administer.

Next question is, do they have Revolution for sale where you live? It is a broad working spot-on, taking all outer parasites, and most internal worms.
If the mom has round worms - she probably has, so will the kittens probably have it too...
I shall refresh my memory on the revolution too...
Otherwise you can surely ask your vet (or any competent vet in your area who answers on telephone questions) what do the recommend to deworm kittens from round worms.

Good luck!
