Summer on a Plate

Tonight's dinner was fantastic. Rick made his famous (well, famous in our family, that is) hamburgers and we topped them with our zucchini salsa. We each had two ears of early corn with an herb butter. I sauteed one zucchini with freshly chopped garlic. And we had sliced tomatoes with a sprinkle of basil and oregano. All the veggies were from the garden! A glass of mint ice tea and the mint was fresh from the flowerbed.

And to top it all off, we splurged and had dessert tonight. I made a peach cobbler and we had some with a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream.

To me, that's summer! All that was missing was a nice chunk of watermelon.

Wow that sounds so delicious, I have to tell you that's my kind of meal! Btw we have some bottles of a locally-made velvety-smooth wine that I'm happy to bring next time if you want company!
