Kittens to Adults.. behavior question

I'm going to try to question this to the best of my ability to be clear!

What are the "Stages" of behavior/personality changes in kittens to adults?

I mean.. when does their full personality "Set in"?

Kittens are learning at ages X-X
Their true personality shows at ages X-X
It's set at X-X

Of course, personalities/behaviors can change throughout their lives with various circumstances, but the bulk of it?

I am asking because right now, about 5 months of age or so, Picasso is extremely affectionate. She wants to be with me all the time, in my lap, dosing in my arm pit and just wants to be lubbed on, rubbing her face against mine, purring really loud and silently meows when I stop petting her.

I do NOT want that to change, and I am hoping this is her "Set" personality as I am loving it and I want a serious lap kitty!

Monet was affectionate, but if I recall.. about 5-7 months of age he was no longer lovey-dovey to me (but is getting pretty affectionate with his new lil sister.. jealous.). I'll be sad if Picasso turns away from my lubbing (but I will lub her anyway!)

I'm in same boat as you. I have a pair of now 8 month old siblings. Boy is a cuddle-buddy. He'll want to be more on me, than next to me, he'll run to me when I call, he'll purr at a drop of a hat - he was always like this, but even more affectionate when younger, 4-6 months. Girls was somewhat lovey in the beginning, but never a lap seeker. She's shy and does not like to be picked up. But what's interesting is that her behavior has been turning warmer and warmer as time goes by. She's next to me a lot, follows me around the house. Lately she's been just laying around on the floor as soon as I stop walking, stretching out and lying on her side, also something I never saw her do, before if she did lie down, it was in the sitting position, just front paws bent to the ground.

I'm going to keep watching to see what happens next, very exciting. I'd love to see comments from those who have 2+ cats. I had just one cat before these two, a boy, so my experiences now are so much different. My previous cat pretty much had the same wonderful, loving, dog-like personality his whole life.

We got Buddy at 6 months. Its been almost 2 years since we got him and he only recently grew out of that curious, bad, awkward kitten stage. He seems to be showing his true personality now which is still snuggly but not nearly as much as the first year or so.

I don't have a real answer for you. I just know that at first most of our kitties were needy and cuddly. Once they were comfortable and little older, they became rambunctious kitties and all we were good for was making toys move LOL.

Spooky was the only one that was different. She was needy (loving, cuddly) from the beginning, and has remained that way.

Billy we adopted when he was two, so that's no help. He's very loving and cuddly.
