Hello,

My kitten is bloated I believe, he has a very big round belly. I was reading that it might be that I have not been feeding him often enough, so possible cause is too large meals? He was eating every 4 hours.i thought that was normal.

I urgently need some advice because the vet doesn't open until 9 am, that's 5 more hours.

I woke him up to see how he was after letting him sleep quite a bit and e was acting strange to me, he was scratching and acting upset. I figured he was hungry, so I tried to feed him. He drank a little bit of milk, but mostly scratched and held on to the bottle. He had never done that before, I m very concerned.

Please help!

Here is a picture of kitty taken a few hours ago, as you can see his big belly.

Could he have worms? Have you been weighing him to know he's growing normally? He doesn't have mom? Is he peeing/pooping normally when you (or the mommy?) help him do his business?

*edit* I read your earlier posts and I think he might have worms and/or a bit problems adapting to the new diet. You could try to rub the belly very gently, in case it's gas or something like that it might help get it out.

Beautiful kitten!

Hi,

I just got back from taking kitty to the vet. He said kitty probably has some internal parasites which is why his belly is big, but that he isn't giving him anything for it until kitty is a month old. Right now he said kitty is about 2.5 weeks. He said not to worry so much, and that kitty is very alert, strong, and healthy.

Great news
I am so happy and relieved :-D

Glad to hear it's nothing too serious.
Is he a seal point or a blue point? So cute!

Hand-raising a kitten is such a stressful job! It's entirely out of our instinct range, and even when they're raised by their mom, they have a pretty high mortality rate. It sounds like you're trying to do your very best, and the kitten is lucky to have you.
