Putting clothes on cats! - Page 2

My gosh, those poor cats. None of them look happy and most look downright depressed. I would never dream of putting my cats through something like that. Dressing them is bad enough, but to expose them to the noise and confusion and stress on top of it....awful.

LOL - no. I have never put clothes on my cats. My son has tried to put a scrunchie around Blue's neck once and Blue bit him! HAHA! I was cheering the cat on the whole time!

I do put a sweatshirt on my cocker in the winter when he has to go out in the snow and potty. I have to keep his coat short due to allergies and he needs to sweatshirt for warmth. It doesn't seem to bother him and when he gets cold, he will actually go to the drawer where I keep it and whimper until I get it out and put it on him.

I shudder at the thought of trying to dress Turtle up!! Oh the injuries she would inflict on me...not to mention the "shunning" that would follow...

There are definitely some... unique outfits there...

I must admit though, some of the cats were really adorable in their outfits.

How can you tell if a cat looks confused and depressed? I mean other then ear placement/movement and vocal behavior ?

I have a shirt that I bought for Franklin when he was a puppy but quickly out grew and put it on Herc once..it says Stud Muffin on it and I couldnt resist. I swear Herc literally is phased by nothing. He just went about like nothing was wrong. He has worn the shirt once and that was it. I put it in the Franklins clothing bin after that. Now my dog however does wear clothes and only during the winter. Hes a smooth haired mini doxie and we live in Pa so it gets bitter bitter cold here sometimes. He has a sweater to wear for when we take him somewhere like Grammys house. And he has a faux fur hooded puffy coat for playing in the snow. Im making him booties this for this year because I have a feeling we are going to have a nasty winter so booties and leg warmers are gonna be a must have this winter.

I dont think its inhumane to put a sweater or booties on a dog or cat especially breeds that really need that extra warmth year round or in the winter. I dont dress Franklin up for the sake of being cute or fashionable no matter how adorable he looks in his coat. I dont dress the cats up at all because they dont need it they dont go outside they dont go anywhere and dont need the extra warmth. I dont see the point in dogs or cats having as many clothes as a human because its freakin expensive, I find the over the top dressing up of animals more obnoxious than anything.

Plus look at how adorable he is with his coat. Hes a baaaaddd puppy. His coat has a skull and crossbones on it. LOL Hes tuff stuff!!!

I have never been tempted to put clothes on my cats. We used to put a sweater on our dog when I was growing up, but that was because he was a small terrier and it was cold and snowy out. He would always shivver. Never would do it just to play dress up.

My cats don't mind if I only put them on long enough for a pic, but I've only done hats.

My dog on the other hand, loves wearing clothes, which admittedly look pretty silly on a 60 pound pit mix.
He wears a bandana all the time, and I let him pick which one out of his two dozen or so.
He seems to have 5 favorites lol.
