I stepped out of my mail truck yesterday and rolled my left ankle, went down to the pavement and skinned the heck out of my right knee. Luckily I was near the end of my route and was able to finish it. The supervisor told me I should have called her and stayed there until she could come to evaluate the situation and take pictures. Hmphhh! I have had it drummed into me (in the past) to finish your route, regardless of injury or sickness. So anyway, I had to go to Urgent Care and have xrays (not broken thank goodness) have a splint applied and an rx for some pain meds and out of work until next Sat, when I go back to DR. I have to give kudos to Urgent Care. It's the first time I've ever been to one and they were so wonderful and gentle and caring!
Sorry about the rambling...must be the meds. lol! So anyway, I have lots of time on my hands for a few days and will probably spend a bunch of it here.....so look OUT!

Ooh! That first step out of an LLV is a real killer, isn't it?
I once stepped out and slid on the ice, but was still holding on to the door, so I slid in a semi-circle and slammed right into the side of the truck. . .ouch. No injuries, though. And I bruise myself regularly on the door latch. Who would think slinging a satchel would be so dangerous?

Enjoy your time off! And the pain meds. . .

I hope your poor ankle will be better soon. Meanwhile, have fun being off work for a few days.

I did something similar last Saturday. I was taking a basket of laundry to the basement and rolled out of my sandals on the way down the steps. Went down on both ankles, flopped down the steps, and smacked into the basement door. My left ankle is worse than the right one, but they still hurt. (The sandals are now in the trash; they were more than 15 years old and I should have gotten rid of them years ago.)

Feel better soon!

Oh no! I thought you meant your hand when I saw the title, and thought that was going to put a crimp in the deliveries! But your foot!

So.... does this mean you'll post lots of pics of your grandson?

If I could only figure out how!
I guess with all this time I could probably finally figure it out. We went to a Star Trek play in the park last Sunday. The play was good, but Brighton was far more entertaining, though I might be a bit prejudiced.
He's talking a lot now and starting to count. I got him a toy LLV, just like Grammy drives and he was pretty pleased with that. He is the love of my life!

I regularly whack my knee on the seat belt holder when I climb back in. I swear I have bruise there 90% of the time.

Well, you've got a little time here...

Just have your daughter email you resized digital copies. Then all you have to do is create a free photobucket account, upload them (all that requires is knowing where you saved them on your computer), and then copy the "IMG" tags and paste that link in a post here - and voila! picture appears.

Hope you're enjoying some rest.

Went to the Doc yesterday. Have to stay off work for another week. I have to call for my first appt. for physical therapy tomorrow. I really hope to get back to work the week after. I'm getting paid but it's only 3/4 pay so I'm taking a hit in the wallet....plus my first three days come out of my sick pay. I guess that's better than hurting myself off the job and using up all my sick leave and annual leave. But I feel a bit bitter about giving up that sick leave.
