I've been fostering some formerly feral kittens for about 2½ months now - they're around 4mos old. On Monday, the four of them went to the shelter for their spay/neuters. I brought one of them to my in-laws house when we got back, because they were filling out the adoption forms on her. Diesel was at the house for a bit under 2 days before I brought him to Petsmart to be displayed (and he was adopted 2 days later!), and the other two - Soot & Asphalt - remained at home with us and our cats.

Well, Soot & Asphalt are running from both ends. I brought them to the vet on Friday afternoon, and they were given some anti-nausea meds and an antibiotic to treat potential coccidia because I said the poop looked kind of like Grey Poupon (but not French's!) mustard.

I was out of town all of Saturday and most of today. I had my FIL check on them and give them their meds yesterday. When I got home today, the poop in the box was still all runny looking, and there were some more small spots of what I believe was vomit in random places in their room. I gave them their meds for the day, and some more wet food. They ate some of it - I'm beginning to think Diesel was the big eater because he weighed almost a pound more than the others - but one of them seemed to spend more time licking the juice rather than eating the food. And into the litter box shortly after - liquid stool.

It's only been since Friday that I took them, should I expect results so soon? I'm having a hard time believing they picked up coccidia from the shelter (vet suggested contaminated shelter water), since the other two are fine and they were all there together, which makes me worry on what else it may be. They are still extremely lovey and active. They are supposed to go back on Wednesday for a checkup.

One of them gets foamy when I give him the antibiotic. I read somewhere that it is a reaction to the taste of it, but intend to mention it to the vet tomorrow when I call them (was actually surprised they hadn't called Saturday while I was on the road - usually they ALWAYS call the next day, even with a routine exam) and update them.
