Darko "dribbles" when he potties

Ok, I don't know if this is a behavioral problem, or a health problem, or just what, but when Darko pees, he doesn't seem to finish up completely before exiting the litter box This doesn't happen just once in awhile, it happens every time he goes! It doesn't matter which box he's using, if there's another cat around or not, etc. It's just something he does. Problem is...there are always little urine spots outside the box. I do have all the litter boxes sitting on rugs, but most times the urine spots extend past the rugs (and onto the floor where at least I can see them )

Does anyone else have cats that do this? If so, have you been able to train them to "finish the job" IN the box? I'm going to mention this to the Vet next time we're in there, but that won't be for a couple of months (hopefully)

Actually, I don't think I've even seen someone post on here before with this problem. Obviously I might have missed it, I don't read all the threads, but it sounds to me like something you can't correct "educationally." Given it happens every time he goes, it strongly suggests to me it would be a muscle-related problem, thus medical - though whether correctible or not, I don't know.
