I rescued 4 kittens from my workplace; brought them home where I have a 4 year old (previously feral kitten also)male. I have kept them in a separate room for 3 months, have let the older cat gradually see them through a glass door after he seemed to get adjusted to the smell (that took weeks!). We have tried giving him extra attention, but he seems very aggressive through the glass door- he hisses, spits and hurls himself at them. He has always been high-strung. He will be so tense and stressed, that he will swipe at me and my husband after viewing the kittens.
It has been 3 months, and we are afraid to have him in the same room with even one kitten, even with both of us in the room. I am so afraid he will hurt or kill them. We plan to give two kittens to mother-in-law after spay neuter, but we are so attached to the four of them. I am heartsick about this situation, and wonder if we need to quickly find homes for the other two before they get too much older. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Our male has been neutered, btw.
