Hello!
I am Jay from Sri Lanka. I came across this forum while searching for cat diet help and thought I'd join and be a part of it! I had two cats, but the eldest disappeared last June and never returned. Her son is still with me, and he seems to get diarrhea often (he got it last August and then again last week). His diet is not the best out there and I'll share the details in the nutrition section where I plan to post a new thread regarding my cat.
A little info on my cats- Pushii the Calico tabby adopted us in March 2008. She somehow managed to get stuck on a short flower tree in my garden and I heard her little 'mews' for help! I let her down and she darted outside. The following day she was on top of the tree again, and again she darted out. The third day she didn't run outside but crept under the family car. Since she was a tiny, scrawny kitten, we decided to keep her and let her go if her momma returned. The next thing you know, she became part of our family! No one came for her and she became ours
She had her first litter in September and gave us three kittens. My sister's friend adopted two kittens and we kept the last one to keep our momma cat happy! We spayed her so she'd have no more kittens and she became the best pet ever.
She was an indoor-outdoor cat (if that makes sense!) and always wanted to be let out in the night, so we obeyed. As I mentioned before, she disappeared last June and never returned, I put up posters and ran a missing pic in several daily papers but she was never found. She is sadly missed and fondly remembered by me!
Her son Zuccho (my sister named him after Prince Zuko of Avatar the last Airbender!) will turn three this September and is a big boned fatty! (or at least he used to be!) His first diarrhea attack happened in August last year and it almost took him away from us, but our vet managed to cure him! I then changed his diet and he was doing well till last week when I noticed he was having diarrhea again. This time I took him to the vet early and he is alright for now. The vet told me to change his diet and feeding habits as he was used to eating large frequent meals throughout the day, and this is how I came across this forum!
Sorry for my lengthy intro! Here are some pictures to go with the story!
Pushii when she was young-
Much older and inside my father's briefcase...
My financial advisor who works for fish!...
Her sons-
The other two at my sister's friends' place (they're about 1 year old in this photo)
Sadly, the black & white son passed away about a year back.
Zuccho-
He's a bit leaner now, this was when he was about 1 1/2 years old.
Regards,
Jay.
