My friend's cat just had his urinary track cleared. They were able to clear it without using a catheter, but they still feared he could have kidney stones. They bought a huge bag of Purina ONE cat food because the doctor said that he CAN NOT eat is old food anymore. Well, the problem is that he isn't eaten at all since he came home. He has been drinking water, but hasn't touched his food. What should we do? Its been 5 days now and he is getting thinner. I've tried researching canned cat food that would be okay for him to eat, but I've had no luck. She tried wetting his dry food to enhance the smell, but that didn't work. Also, he is a young adult cat and he has been peeing outside of the litter box. Its almost like he doesn't have control of his bladder anymore. Please help!

5 Days of not eating after what he went through and still showing signs of having issues(peeing outside) this cat needs to go back to the vet TODAY!

If money is an issue bring it up and if nothing else let this cat pass peacfully. This cat needs pain meds and to find out if hes blocked he may NEED the catheter and to stay a few days at the hospital.

I agree, needs to be rushed to the vet asap. And if a cat isn't eating for days, feed anything to get the cat interested in food, wet friskies or treats or whatever and if still not eating for more than 24hours then something is definitely wrong.

I'm so sorry - but this cat does need to see the vet, or emergency vet, immediately. Also, there are other foods prescribed for urinary health, such as Hills CD that tend to be very palatable to cats - probably because the vets want to make sure the kitty eats it.

Also, are you in the States? I'd suggest your friend try a brand new box or two, in different locations, filled with Cat Attract litter. It could be the cat associates the old box and litter with painful elimination and just won't use it anymore.

Praying for you - my own boy had crystals and it's a scary situation.
