My 4 month old kitten just went #2 in his water dish!! He's been fine going in his litter box & now this. His litter was clean too however I did just change it to this pine litter, but why would he do this?

I found the text in this book spot on, but the illustrations aren't helpful at all. Good over all book

This mat caught my eye because of its size and texture, which traps fine litter rather well. It's large enough for jumbo litterboxes, which is also a plus. It's not quite as easy to clean as a...

This scoop was a freebie with some clumping litter I bought last year, and I like it so much that I've bought a second one. It's perfect for fine clumping litter, which it sifts very thoroughly....

he might not like the new litter. Did you slowly change out the litter over period of weeks or just switch it suddenly?
I just switched it suddenly, are you supposed to change out litter slowly? I had no idea.

Cats are very picky. I'd go back to the old litter.. and try to change it slowly. As it needs refill, add the new litter in. little at a time until the old one's completely gone. Take your time with it! Hopefully your little guy would accept the change.
Or.. you could get another litter box, place it next to the old one with new litter and see if he eventually goes over. Though I'd personally try the first suggested option

Def need to go slow with pine-I use it for my cats and what I did was switched over a few boxes at a time-I still have one none pine box!
The same applies to food to-gradual switches. could try 25% new pine under 75 tried and true litter and then go from there. If seems still avoiding it lessen the pine
