Howdie folks.

I'm about to take a trip, small one, but still.....so it got me thinking.

What was the last trip you went on? and I don't mean groceries...... could be a friend in a different state/province, or maybe you are lucky and got to go across the sea...etc.

Me and 2 of my friends went to Fredericton (about 3.5 hrs away from me) for the weekend, we spent the whole weekend drinking and shopping

It was a blast!

Very nice.

I'm going up to the Ottawa area..... prolly for a week or so.
Not sure when I'm leaving, but I have to be home by the 14th.

oh, it's about 8hrs+ from me and I'll be doing the drive on my own
I am really really looking forward to some me time, plus I've never been to our nations capital

I went update NY to Binghamton for a friend's wedding. Me, my mom and a family friend spent 2 nights there, did shopping and saw a show one night. We drove like 8 hours to get there!

The last trip we were on was for DH's Dad's Memorial in December. We are planning a short trip 2nd weekend in September to visit his Mom. I already reserved the car.

Honestly, other than day trips, I've not done much of anything this year. I've been so busy taking care of cats and working around the house and the yard that we haven't had any time to ourselves. My last actual trip was probably going to Connecticut for a long weekend last fall. And it looks like that will be my next trip this fall, sometime in October; by that time, Tabby will be old enough that (hopefully!) I won't feel too guilty about leaving her alone with the rest of the gang.

In addition to the trip to Connecticut, my sister and I are planning a trip for a long weekend in New York City this winter, after the Christmas tree is put up in Rockefeller Center. We're going to take the train in and back again.

DH has been out and about, trips for union things he has to do. But I've not done much of anything. And I really haven't felt like it either, so I'm not missing out on anything.

In late June I went to Greenville, NC for a Convention. We stayed from Friday until Sunday. It's probably the only trip I'll get this year.

The last trip I was on was flying home to PA to visit my mom and friends in mid-June. It was a good trip. Usually I seemed to always fly back when it's freezing in winter, so I enjoyed the hot and humid weather.

Last real trip was driving from Charleston, SC to Standish, Maine for vacation July 9th and coming home on the 16th.

Last weekend we drove to Chester, SC, about 2 hours away. Saturday we are driving to Madisonville, KY and coming back Sunday.

We travel a lot

The last trip I took was to Minnesota and Chicago in April... Chicago for my uncle's funeral. I get home to Minnesota a couple of times a year, but it's not exactly what I would call a "vacation".

I realized that I haven't had a real vacation since 2006. I mean somewhere where I have no responsibilities, I'm away from everything and can be on my own if I want to. So, I'm going to Mexico in September! Yay! Isla Mujeras. Some friends are going to be there when I get there, but then they're leaving 3 days later and I get to just hang out on my own - me, the palapa, the sand, the pool, some books..... that's it.

I can't wait!!!

We went back to our hometown, two weeks after we moved here so we could move DH's company down here. Before that it was a trip down here to look for houses. lol
