going away for a whole week... miss my babies terribly :(

At the airport right now, haven't even boarded yet and already miss my babies like I never missed them before
I am sure it has to do about Bugsy being sick a couple of weeks ago and stop eating- even though he is eating normally now, the thought of something happening to him while I am on the road absolutely petrifies me
This is being quite hard... Harder than I thought it would be... It is this trip now and the longer trip next month, when I will got out of the country for two weeks... I am really having a hard time with these two.
It is very odd- I am used to travel- I travel ALL the time- once a week, sometimes even twice... But I have never been away for a long trip after Bugsy was sick
Well... Sorry for going over and over... I am trying to hold together as I seat here waiting for my plane...
Luckily Kelly is spending the night everyday so they won't be alone- she loves my babies and vice versa. She has treated Bugsy for a loooong time so meds, injections, whatever is fine w/her. She has full power to take them in to her clinic and bugsys's vets and emergency...
Rationally, I am covered...... I just hope that seeing all my friends in Vegas (it is a huge trade show and I will see my friends from all over the country ) + work will keep me so busy I don't have time to trip about it. A great friend of mine is coming by Saturday and we have a girls night out on my b-day too, so that should help...
Anyways, this is becoming a book already... Please, if you can spare some vibes for my babies... For them to not get in trouble, for them to keep eating and just wait for mommy healthy and happy... I would appreciate it...
Thanks for reading my book- time to board...

Don't worry, your not alone with worrying like this

I'm on a cruise later on this year. It's only for a week but i'm making it my last because l worry over the babies too much, plus it's too much stress and hassle for one week. After this i'm just going to do a couple of extra overnight stays in London a year.

Like you l just have to keep telling myself that their in good hands with my friend who will be down twice a day, and she knows the vets number, but the thought is always there

Lots of that they stay safe and eat well

Thank you guys.... I spoke to Kelly this afternoon, and Bugsy is fine, he ate his whole wet meal minus a spoon (kelly is spoon feeding him ). He is eating his kibbles just fine and is just his loving self as always.
Hope came out and gave Kelly some loving - this is a great sign... Hope has her semi-feral personality of running for cover whenever there are new people in the house, or at loud noises - even when I am standing and walking towards her. So it is great to know that she is at ease
Lucky also had her meal, and Gracie had her usual chats and dialogs - apparently day 1 was just fine
Now on to day 2!

In here, I left the house at 5am after not sleeping at all, arrived at 8am, got ready for a national sales meeting with a rep group, did my presentation at 1pm, had a bite to eat around 3.... a nap....... met some friends at the bar..... a couple of drinks and going to bed because I am exhausted! Long, long and stressful day - at least my meeting was successful - hard to do a presentation for a couple of dozen people when you haven't slept or eaten and flew several hours..... I am DEAD.

I totally understand missing your babies! I just got back from being gone 10 and a half days and I missed them the whole time I was gone (even though I really enjoyed spending time with my family). Fortunately, I went by myself and DH stayed home, otherwise I wouldn't have gone and at least I didn't have to worry about them with DH taking good care of them. Swanie was very happy to see me, he purred and kissed me. Cindy is not so sure <sigh>.

I travel a bit and always miss my kitties and dogs....even though DH is here, I just have certain ways I take care of them and I miss that. Although, a few days without litter duty is nice too.

Hope you are having fun.

At the airport right now, about to board, only this time headed home, thank goodness! Can't wait to see my babies! Seven days in Vegas is too much, and seven days without them is down-right torture! I can't wait to hold each of them on my arms and give them a big kiss... To sleep on my own bed next to Bugsy... Sounds like a dream... They make my life complete

That's so great. I know the exact feeling. I was gone for 6 weeks and just could not wait to be back. All my flights were late and I was afraid that I would miss a connection and not make it home on time.
Sorry I missed the thread earlier. But am so glad that the trip is over for you and you will be back cuddling with the babies is no time.

Don't know how I missed the thread earlier either, but YAY that you're on your way home! Have a GREAT NIGHT'S SLEEP!

That Gary can't travel is a great reason to never leave our kitties.

I bet your cats will be so happy to see you, when you come home

Aw, Carolina... I'm glad you'll be home soon. I was away from my babies for two nights awhile back, and I was never so glad to get home in my life!

Glad your trip is over and you will be snuggling soon with furbabies. I totally understand how hard ot is to leave our kids. I hate it even for one night. I even have my petsitter come three times a day. you and your cats will have a happy reunion tonight

I am home!!!
They are all happy and healthy
Kelly was here when I got home, and she said Lucky recognized my car because she got all crazy all of the sudden, jumped on the window and started meowing non stop right before I opened the door
Bugsy was on the door waiting for me, so I just picked him up and covered his belly with kisses.
Kelly spent the whole week here, spending all nights with them so they were never alone. They are doing fantastic!
Since I got home Bugsy and Lucky have been playing catch - this is kind of a new development.... they don't play much.... Lucky is more attached to Hope, so I am really happy that she is playing with Bugsy now too
Gracie is doing great as well.... Hope is taking a little time.... But she always does.... She is a bit more skittish.
I am just so happy to be here again with them!
They are the loves of my life!

Sounds like they gave you a nice welcome home

Just as we prepared to leave for our long-awaited New England trip a few years back, Mickey became really, really sick. It was some sort of infection, but his iron levels were so low I was later told by the vet he was close to needing a transfusion. He was home and on meds when we left.

Needless to say, my trip was tainted by my paralyzing fear for him, I made constant calls home. The neighbor girl was coming in to feed both kitties (only 2 at the time), but she wasn't equipped for this. My mom helped as well, but he ended up back at the vet during that long week.

I absolutely understand how you felt. Glad all went well!

Thank you friends
It is amazing to be home
You know, for those who say cats don't get attached.... Wow.... should see my cats - they are sending me messages by the minute: "Don't you leave again mommy!"
In the end of the month I will have my long trip - Two weeks out of the country This one-week trip was good to prepare me.... I have never been away for so long, and it is killing me...
I haven't seen my family for over three years and my grandma is now 98 years old, so I have to go no matter what. I need vacations.... I need to recharge... Need to see my siblings, my dad, my mom.... I have no one here, it is really hard... I am literally in between a rock and a hard place
Kelly is going to stay here again for the whole 2 weeks - she will move in and spend the nights, so they won't be alone, that does make me feel better. She will have my phone in there and I will call every day - if something happens I told her I hop in the plane and will be here ASAP. Hopefully everything will be fine.
They are all doing well - Bugsy is eating like a champ, so is everyone else. I gave the heads up to my vet and authorized them to have Kelly to bring them in if necessary. Kelly also works for another clinic so if something happens things can be done as well. She is a tech (I rather say animal nurse ).
Anyways, right now as I sit here on the couch, I have Bugsy on my left, Lucky on my right, and Hope on the top of me (on the shelf). They are 24/7 within inches of their momma - I am loving it!!!
If I could I would take them to Brasil with me.... but.... I guess there is not enough sunblock for my whities that I can find!

Sounds like you have an awesome kitty sitter, and your kitties approve, which is the most important thing! What more could you ask for?!

Oh yeah, Kelly, is a blessing, a God-sent... She LOVES my babies, and that is the most important part for me.... She gets here and Bugsy goes straight to her, no ceremony
She is a great friend, and I trust her through and through - with all my traveling for work, I don't know what I would do without her...
It makes all the difference in the World to know that Bugsy has someone to cuddle at night, to know that they are not alone, and they are being cared by someone who truly cares for them . Kelly sends me pictures of them eating, hanging out, lets me know how they are doing.... She keeps me sane.
She is the only one I trust to leave them with - nobody else. I am very fortunate to have her in our lives - she has a huge place in all of our hearts
