Edit: Ack!!! I forgot to change the date! Wed July 27. Can one of the mods change this for me.

Easy one today...

I am home this week on vacation but we are not going anywhere. What do you do when you have a "Staycation"

Mon - Wed, I am helping out with the church Vacation Bible School. I am in the Bible Story section and I dress up as a "Bible Woman". Thur and Fri, I am just gonna vegetate under the AC, watch TV and play on the computer.

I tend to hit the pool or beach if the weather's nice.. or I'd have a "Lifetime" TV day, where I watch nothing but Lifetime movies with popcorn, lol

Work around the house and yard.

I get up in the morning at the same time as I would if I were working (around 5 or 6) and finish my normal chores around the house. Then I'll make something for dinner and throw that in the fridge for grilling later on. And by that time, I can go outside and mow the lawn or work in the garden and flowerbeds. There's usually something to work on outside until noon or 1:00.

Then I'm free to spend the afternoon in the pool. Since I'm usually home by myself, I'll lounge around on the raft or on the chair in the pool for awhile. Once DH gets home from work, we'll have dinner and then go back outside to work for awhile.

If I take vacation time during the winter, I can still always find something to do in the house. If nothing else, I'll bake bread or some kind of treat for DH. It is rare for me to watch any kind of tv during the day if I'm at home. Sometimes I will read for awhile, but I'm not much for daytime tv.

Last time I had a "Staycation" was in December 2009 - took from Dec 23 - Jan 3 off work. Mostly sat at home and read A LOT, walked to the grocery store and Subway a few times, took Rob's cousin's German Shepherd for walks, volunteered for the SPCA, and hung out with Rob's cousin making drinks and enjoying the hot tub. Didn't really do much of anything

My whole life is a staycation - I never go anywhere anymore. Maybe later this week, I will do something exciting like mow sloughs or cultivate around some and of course, the weekly trip for groceries. Plans for August include myriad trips to whatever fields we can actually combinem and September brings racing close enough to go watch.
