hello everyone:

I"m soo happy, I tought it wasn't going to happen easily, but I think I'm succeeding in changing Lucas' food to wet, yay! I'm giving him Blue Wilderness grain free canned food, the turkey formula. He didn't like it at first, but I decided that i had to try harder to change his diet, so I added water to the food like Carolina and some others told me. He still didn't want it, but now I add more water and I mash the food and mix it well with the water and that was it! he eats it all! I just can't believe that just adding more water made a difference. I guess I was doing it wrong, Lucas wants his canned food waterly like soup. Too funny.

I'm so happy about this! he still eats his natural dry food in the morning, but I"m working hard to try and see if I can eliminate the dry food.

Hi Tammy!
Yey!!! Yep, it makes all the difference! I even have a mini blender for them.... They like their food just so, and it turns out that making it 2x a day for Bugsy and Hope mashing it and mashing, in the blender is much faster and much less work!
I started with this one: Bella Cuccina Smoothie Maker, then just today, received their upgrade: Magic Bullet
The Bella Cuccina worked fine for over a year, and just recently starting taking longer to puree the food and leaking a strange water from the motor. I don't know yet if the magic bullet works better - I think they are the same in pureeing the food, I am just hoping it lasts longer.
But anyways, this has been my solution - I love it..... There is no guess work and they love the food.... I just put 1/2 can and a shot glass of water - blend/whip for 10 seconds, and done. To clean, just run underwater, fill the cup 1/2 full, add a little soap and run the blender... sparkly clean.

How is Lucas? I was thinking of you both today... has he recovered? Is he doing better?

I will have to buy one of those because it is working and I'm loving it. If he keeps eating it I will be able to get him off dry food, which i know is better for him. The problem is that he is so used to see his plate with the dry food that he cries when he sees it empty. But I'll work on it.

he is doing a little better today, but yesterday he was all red and itchy.
Thank you so much for asking

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
Oh Tammy, that is GREAT news!
Our cats are the same way, I just never really realized it before LOL. Each one has their way of eating it - and I add a different amount of water and do a different amount of mashing for EACH ONE.
Lazlo and Flowerbelle like soupy, Billy and Tuxie like it with just a touch of water and a little bit chunky, and Shelly, Spooky, and Chumley like it between those. Ming Loy eats anything.

Tammy, I am so glad to hear Lucas Is eating soupy wet food. I am having a terrible time getting Squeak back on wet food and off the C/D dry. He has become addicted to it and refuses to eat anything else. His chin is so bad and upper lips, so red and itchy, and by morning all dirty again. He cries and cries if he doesn't get his "Corn Diet". I have been thinking of Lucas and wondering now if Pipsqueak is starting with food allergies too. Do you feed the dry Wilderness too? I also mash up my cats wet food with some water, they all love it that way, except for Pipsqueak the one who needs it most

Thank you both
I"m really excited about it. I hope I can soon eliminate the dry. He is eating the Blue Wilderness grain free Turkey wet food. He was eating the Blue Wilderness Duck dry, but since I read so many things about it causing UTI and other things I changed it to Blue BUffalo Finicky Feast, it has grains like rice and oatmeal, but it doesn't have corn, or soy. They love it. But I still want to change to canned only, specially Lucas.

I still don't know if Lucas is allergic to some foods. He never did well with the Hypoallergenic formulas (HIlls z/d and Royal Canin). I have to say he did pretty good with the BLue Wilderness grain free dry, but then he got all red and itchy again.

So, I don't think is the food.

I hope you can get your Pipsqueak to eat the canned food. I'm so sorry to hear he has food allergies

Thank you!! In fact, Lucas is not eating dry anymore! He doesn't even want it, he only wants his wet food mashes and with water, looks like soup, that is how he likes it. It just amazes me how easy it was to make the switch. He is eating canned grain free natural turkey. I couldn't be happier!
