Hi all.

Picasso, spayed female 5 months old (Estimated).. I felt a soft lump, maybe a cotton ball size on her belly. It doesn't seem to bother her.

I am not sure if this is a cause for concern or not.. I'm wondering if it could be a scar tissue from her being spayed, or its natural on a female cat? Since it doesn't seem to be bothering her when I touch/press it, so I am not alarmed for emergency.

The shelter manager will be stopping by this weekend to give her the final distemper shot, i will have her check it out as well and see what she thinks.

Online googling says it could be an umbilical hernia and it could go away. Maybe this is it? or a pocket of fat?

Next time she goes to the vet, I will have her check it out for sure.

Kiefer had that problem when we got him at 4 months and it was an umbilical hernia. They can go away on their own or they can cause problems if a section of the intestines gets caught in it. We went ahead and had the surgery done so we didn't need to worry about it. He was running and chasing Aoibhe the next day.
