On Saturday, 39 animals were taken into the Humane Society, after sheriff's deputies served a search warrant at a ranch in northwest Tucson.

Sick and dying animals - some cooped up with the carcasses of dead ones - were strewn around the property. Some animals were found malnourished and inside the home, the floors were covered with animal feces and garbage. One dog, too sick to be treated, was euthanized. all that reamins on the property are two cows and the Animal Cruelty Task Force is looking for a place to take them.

No identities have been released, as yet.

Got an update today: the initial report of a dog being euthanized was erroneous. However, a cat had to euthanized after renal failure set in.

A total of 14 dogs, 4 cats, 2 turkeys, 2 geese, 13 chickens, a snake and a cow and its calf were confiscated. All are being cared for by the Humane Society.

Until a court decides that the animals must be relinquished or the owners volontarily surrender them, none of these animals can be put up for adoption.

The main concern is for the calf. According to the spokesperson for the Animal Cruelty Task Force, it looks like a hide stretched over a skeleton.

Why do neighbors wait so long to call and turn in these people. If the calls came sooner, more lives wuld be saved!

A farm? That's hoarding too? Damn. I know tons of people in the country with more animals than that. They don't leave dead ones laying around though.

Does anyone have the story of the tiger hoarder? It was in Calif. earlier this year. He had a lot of tigers, plus dead ones in the freezer, and a litter of cubs in the attic! Tippi Hedron took them in, she has some kind of refuge.

A farm is different at least farm animals are kept in clean conditions with food and not DEAD bodies strewn around..... like this.

Well you may know people with more animals than that BUT the point in this message is HOW the animals were kept that's what's getting us down!

Please re-read thread.
