The vet gave me vitamins for Kairi. I have never given any of my cats vitamins, and although Kairi LOVES these little chewy bits, I was wondering how necessary they are. I won't stop giving them, he looks forward to getting them, and the kids take turns each day.

They are called "Nu-cat" and they look like a "Pounce" moist treat. they smell like vitamins to me, but he can smell when I open the cabinet and obviously they smell better to him.

Anyone ever given these to their kitties?

It is typically not advised to give multivitamins to cats without veterinary supervision, since some are fat soluble and thus can become toxic but in most cases are just a waste of money and are urinated out as excess.

If you feed various brands of quality food, the cat should be getting all the vitamins that it needs from that, unless the cat has some unique health issue.

Yeah, the Vet gave them to me. I've never given cats vitamins before.

I ordered some yesterday to ensure my guys are getting everything they need since I feed raw now. It's an excellent supplement and it contains things for mobility, has digestive enzymes omegas and all kinds of good things.I think they will only benefit my cats' health. It gets great reviews too. Can I post links here?

I gave them to one of my DLH/DMH when she was very sick. She loved them like your cat. But once she was better she was not given them anymore. But if they are prescribed by a veterinarian and you trust there judgement I would not worry about it being harmful.

I agree with you on the above issue for the most part

You didn't say why the vet gave you the vitamins. Of course you need to do what the vet advises but I'm curious as to why vitamins were prescribed. With a balanced diet, the cat should be getting all of the vitamins he/she needs. Obviously you're not going to have any problems giving the "medicine" to the cats
