Hi everyone, I apologize for not being on here and I will give you all an update thread on my life recently
Recently I have become obsessed with new things, I have a new television, new watch and new toaster
I am now in the market for a new phone, obviously with all this spending I don't have much money to splash around at the moment, so I'm looking for a cheap phone that is also reliable. I'm guessing most of you will suggest Androids? I am looking at them and am not sure which one is best, also I hear people say that Android 2.2 Froyo is bad, how is that so?

Thanks in advance everyone

If you're willing to sign a 2-year contract, you can get plenty of good phones for very little money. Get an Apple I-phone 3GS for as little as 1 cent, refurbished for $9, new for $49. Get the newest and best HTC Inspire refurbished for $49, new for $99.

Not sure which carrier you have but my husband and I love our Droid 2s (Verizon). Droid 3 came out which is an upgrade to the 2 so I would suggest that as well. IMO you can't go wrong with the iPhone, I plan on making that my next phone when my upgrade is available.

If I were getting a new phone, I'd be going for the HTC Thunderbolt. My team leader just got one. It also has the 4G and LTE (depending if your metro has it yet). He also really loved his Droid Incredible (his wife wanted it, so he gave it to her and upgraded to the Thunderbolt). When my BlackBerry was acting up last year and I thought I was going to need a new phone, I was going to go for the Incredible. I believe they have the Incredible 2 out now.

Of course, the prices are steep unless you're doing an upgrade or new 1-2 year contract. Not sure if you're planning to buy straight out or do a contract with it. Or what carrier you use.

Thanks to the three of you
To Mike, I would prefer a prepaid as I know what I will have to pay. To odiakkoh, I am with Virgin Mobile on a prepaid plan at the moment. I wish the Thunderbolt was out here but it is not
My budget is about $80, I am looking at a phone, the Huawei IDEOS U8150, it seems a good phone for a cheap price, if you can reccomend anything like that or in that price range, that would be great, anything up to around $100 or $200 I can get but if I was looking at something for now I would be getting something in the $80 range, thanks everyone

Just wondering, do you have an I-Wireless company around you?

http://www.iwireless.com/megatalk.asp

It's what I use. I pay around $40 a month for unlimited text & talk. My phone was about $20 I think, and it's no contract. You prepay and if you don't want to or can't pay once your prepay is up you don't get fines or anything like that. You just pay it again when you want and it starts back up, same number & everything.

Updating my Android has been a huge pain in my you-know-what, and I should have just got another iPhone!

so I say get an iPhone. You can get one cheap on eBay, my friend sells all her Android phones when a new one comes out on eBay and they're in perfect shape. I'm sure lots of people sell iPhones there too
