I stopped at the shelter to drop off some food and a scratcher today and guess who was sitting on the desk!

Look how nice and plump and sleek she is!

...

Just for contrast I put these two together (below):

now that's one happy chubby kitty. I just finished reading the other thread.. amazing story and amazing outcome!

Does that mean she's still at the shelter?

It was so...strange...she was the first cat I saw when I walked in the door, sitting there on the desk in Her Spot, behind the receptionist, I could tell she is The Cat In Charge.
Though I always suspected she would be that kind of cat, once she was healthy.

I recognized her instantly.

I said "Hey, that's Blue!" and the receptionist said "yes" but she looked puzzled, probably wondering how I could know the cat's name, until I explained I was the one who rescued her.

The shelter manager came out and picked Blue up and handed her to me, but she didn't want to be held. Once I put Blue back in Her Spot she was all lovey dovey and purry to me.

Haven't they done such a nice job taking care of her! Her mouth is all healed and she takes her methimazole every day and she's just a gorgeous cat. I am so happy Blue was put in my path and I was able to save her.

Yes she is at the shelter and clearly running it.
She's not on their adoptable cat list on their website yet, I don't know why. Maybe because of her special needs (hyperthyroid, toothless) I was about to ask some questions when someone came in with a found kitten and she had to go handle that.

Thanks for reading the other thread, it's a long one! I can't stop smiling, I was so happy to see her.

Thanks. I, too, get teary eyed about Blue. I'm just so happy I was able to save her. My vet was a hero in this too. She came in on her day off to do the dental surgery to save Blue from even a day more of suffering.

She couldn't do it for free (she is a staff vet) but Blue did live at the vet hospital for a week, and while I paid for everything else, I was not charged for the boarding fees, which was a $200 savings.

I don't regret the money spent, I'm just grateful I had it (in savings) to spend.

Saving Blue is a very satisfactory chapter in my life.

I missed Blue's story the first time around, wow, what a difference!!!
I wish I could take her in, I've already got one toothless cat, what's one more?
I'm sure she will find the perfect home and be spoiled like she should be.
