Today I took my dog (Bichon Frise) in to be euthanized. He was in misery that couldn't be fixed or helped anymore and finally stopped eating and drinking (even with help) 2 days ago and was already at the point where he was getting saline injections to stave off hypovolemia. Death via causes related to isotonic dehydration is horrible - and I just wasn't going to let him die such an awful death, so I took him in today and the vet put an end to his suffering. I'm going to miss him.

My condolences. He had a good long life, and helping him cross the Bridge was the last gift you could give him. , Ribsy.

The pain is unbearable when we lose our loved pets. I, too, have an older dog that is having health issues. Will break my heart. Many vibes for you as you try to deal with Ribsy's death.

RIP
Ribsy
You were loved dearly and will be missed...

I got his Cremains back. My family and I got him cremated and a maple wood box/urn (sp? ) that has a figurine of a bichon frise on the top and a engraved brass plate on the front with his name and DOB - Date of passing engraved. Then next to it we put the last dog collar he ever wore with the tags displayed in front. I thought it made for a good memorial that I can take with me wherever I go.
