Rosie started acting weird at 2am this morning. She was meowing at me and wanting attention. So i gave her a stroke and told her it was definately sleep time.

At 9am still no signs of established labour so we decided to double check under bed security and make sure it was tight and she couldnt give birth where we were unable to help.

At 10.30am we left for our daughters school sports day.

Arrived home at around 12.35 as her first kitten was being born, i managed to catch it on film too. Was amazing as our daughter watched her cat give birth. She did everything she was suppose to do although it took her a good 10 minutes to decide to eat the placenta and do the cord. We were starting to worry but was obviously no need.

13.02 our second kitten was born, completely black.

13.36 third Kitten was born, black and white.

14.26 fourth kitten is born breech

15.08 fifth kitten was born.

I havent weighed the kittens or touched them as mum is being a good mummy and doesnt seem to want me to. The babies seem large and started to suckle as soon as they were born.

Not sure if a 6th kitten will be born i guess only time will tell.

A huge rush of emotions has hit me and i am such a proud cat owner right now.

Kisses and hugs to my Rosie Posie for being fab.

Well done Rosie! Congrats all round. Take some pix as soon as she will let you get a good look at the babies.

I will do she isnt as relaxed as last time so i am just leaving her to it. I can see all the babies have fat tummys and are being cleaned by mummy. Its been an amazing experience.

Be sure to handle the kittens as soon as possible. It's very important for their socialization with humans.

Pictures. We need our fix of kitten pictures!

I try not to handle them too much as Rosie doesnt like it. She is doing her job.

Last time she was ok with me handling from birth this time she is different so i respect her wishes at the moment.

Im so blessed.

How weird is it that when one was born my daughter immediately said mum that one looks like a dalmatian puppy. Our beautiful dalmatian died a month ago and i am guessing this is his way of letting us know he is safe and well in doggy heaven.
