I picked him up after work today. He is on oral Clindimyicin 2 x day and 1 mg prednisone 1/2 of that amount 2 x day. I picked up some A/D too.
The vet tech said it would be great if he ate 1/2 can/day. Its going to be difficult with the other beasts.... So I syringed 1/2 oz just a few minutes ago and of course he wasn't too happy about that. He did walk from the carrier and drank a bunch of water as soon as I we got home. I have an appt Tues morning for a blood draw. They did another today still has 6 categories with very low numbers one went from low to normal (do i remember which one.) It wasn't one of the three we are really watching. Most of the categories and small improvements from The 18th.
So his is still lethargic which I suppose is to be expected. We are trying for a 2 oz/week weight gain.

Hoping he continues to improve.

for you too. Hard to see your new baby sick.

He is still pretty lerthargic but he at least is drinking water on his own and taking a few licks of wet food. I continue to syringe the A/D. I never put the cat carrier away and now he goes to sleep in it. Must have gotten used to the kennel at the vet's office.

Doesn't like the prednosone pill though. Well its 1/2 if a tiny pill so I think I will dab in food and give that way otherwise it practically is dissolved from the couple of times he spits it out. The antibiotic is liquid not as bad.

So he has been drinking water on his own and I even saw him eat some dry food and quickly set out some wet and he has eaten some of that too.

But with the A/d being so rich he must have had some bowel movement issues. I have to do a clean up on his legs and I thought I had baby wipes but I do not. I do have some foaming dry shampoo to use though.

He is currently on my shoulder (hence cleaning up his legs). Still lethargic but eating the food is good and he wants to sit my me more. Make it hard to type! Still sleeping in pet carrier at times.

I syringe fed him this morning and as much as I want to continue this I also need for him to start eating on his own. I think I stress him a bit by syringe feeding him

Medications going down ok. Just have to be quick.

Gail, try some junk dry food- not the best, I know, but sure help in getting his independence back....
Oh, don't forget to give him probiotics for his little tummy!
