Bully cat stressing me and other cats out

Thread Starter
I have 3 cats in a small 1 BR apt in the Bronx. I adopted a kitten that came from a feral colony, and wanted him to have some company, so ended up adopting to adult males from a shelter. Initially, both of the adults had issues with one another, 1 being the Alpha male ( Handsome is his name), but both were protective and "parent like" with the kitten (Benjamin).

Now it is 2 years later, Benjamin is grown for the most part, and now Handsome is aggressive towards the Benjamin and Carlos ( the other adult cat). And when Handsome is aggressive towards Benjamin, Carlos seems very angry, and those 2 end up fighting ferociously. Carlos ends up having cuts on his face and Benjamin had a cut on the back of his neck after a recent fight. There is a fight at least once a day, probably more, since I am not always there. There was a fight the other night ( I wasn't there) that the neighbor came to the door b/c of the knocking against the wall between our apartments.

I just don't know what to do. I have tried the Feliway plug ins and the collars, but nothing seems to affect Handsome. I have taken him to the vet and he has no physical issues. And he was neutered before I adopted him, along with Carlos.

This is really stressing me out. I don't want Carlos' and Benjamin's lives to be miserable b/c of this bully cat. But I don't want to give him away either. He is wonderful alone, but not good with other cats. Can anyone help?

So, are they all neutered?

Could be he's in some sort of pain - a visit to the vet sounds appropriate.

I second the question: Are they neutered?

if not, I'd suggest getting them neutered.
If so, possibly a slow re-introduction is needed?

The OP said the adult cats came neutered. Is the Benjamin neutered as well? I don't know enough about cat behavior as far as aggression goes, but can you see a behaviorist? Benjamin and Carlos may be shutting Handsome out of their group, and Handsome may be trying to assert himself back into the group.

I know dogs can behave this way in a pack (group) setting, excluding one that is also a dominant animal-there can be only one Alpha. The others need to take another position, or be run from the pack.
