Hello everyone

I adopted a pair of sibling rescue kittens on the 16th (last Saturday). They are estimated to be about 5 months old. Upon adoption they were developing upper respiratory infections which we were given antibiotics for (Clavamox, .5mL 2x a day for 10 days). As well, on the male (Ted) we noticed a small patch of missing fur on his head by his right ear. We didn't think much of it at first, but it has since gotten worse.

His adoption papers say he was dewormed with Droncet on 7/16, his Flea treatment was Capstar (7/16) and Revolution (7/14) and had his ears checked and cleaned (7/14). He has yet to get his vaccinations, but is an indoor cat (but was a rescue found under a house with mom and litter mates).

He hasn't been scratching at the lesion, in fact he doesn't seem to notice it at all. It is a dark color, white dry flakes on top, and feels a bit like a blister to the touch. It has begun to split beside his ear as well, and looks moist, but there is no blood.

He is otherwise active and playful (he's sitting in front of the monitor chasing the cursor as I type this post up!) and he eats and drinks well.

Any ideas would be great. We're going to take him back to see the rescue staff on Saturday, but some sort of insight a.s.a.p. would be nice.

Cheers!

Could possibly be ringworm, which is very contagious to both other kitties and humans. If able, I'd get him to the vet today.

Yes it was conclusively diagnosed as ringworm.

The shelter gave us liquid Miconosol to treat him.

I've been reading about using diluted apple cider vinegar as well.

There is also this product: http://www.petco.com/product/108804/...escription-tab - I've used Neem toothpaste before, so this idea isn't very alien to me.

Are there any other ways I can SUPPLEMENT the topical treatment naturally?
