Should I let them out for the night?

The kittens were neutered today and seem to be having a great recovery! They ate and did business as soon as they came of the cage, and while they have spent the last four hours napping with me, they are officially playing!!

There hasn't been wrestling yet, except a couple of leg bites on the part of Garfunkel, but they are running and doing a little bit of jumping, digging "under" books and some clothes I have on the floor, and seem very perky.

More information - the area I'd be letting them out into is simply the rest of my 600 sq. foot apartment, minus about 100 sq. feet for my bedroom and large closet.

My three options are this: 1. Keep them in the bedroom with me, 2. Lock them in the bathroom, which is tiny, or 3. Let them have the living room/general apartment for their use, which is how they spend each night normally.

What's your opinion? Thanks.

Well, since they're doing so well, I see no reason to not let them out of the bedroom.

When we TNR, we just release the males after they recover from the anesthesia.

Thanks. I think so, too. They're in full-on bunny-kicking and climbing mode!

Aw, that's great! I love it when the vet says to keep the activity level down after surgery... but if a kitten feels well... At least with a neuter, there's no sutures or anything to worry about.

I am glad your little darlings are doing so well after their surgeries. Kittens seem to bounce back after their neuters very quickly!

Thanks y'all I am fading fast and am nearly asleep, lol, so the boys are out in the apartment for now. But I cut my noise-canceling fan to its lowest setting and decided that I would answer the door in the event that they scratch at it - which they've only done a couple times in the 3 months we've been family. But I'm sure they will be fine and I'll open the door to them sleeping on their bed right outside my bedroom door - they dragged it there one night and I've just left it since I think it's so sweet! They are usually out there every morning and it's just the best greeting I can think of, short of the day they're calm enough for me to bring them into the bed!

I hope your kittens had a good night after being neutered. They will be "calm enough" to bring to bed at about a year of age IMO. But all cats are different so result may vary .
