The sunrise was very pink this morning (4am) and I decided to try to take some pics of it. They looked like crap, but the kitties of course wanted to know what was so interesting outside that I was taking pics, so I took few pics of them instead. And as usually, Utu disappeared the minute he realized I was going to take a pic so he's not included. (I shall have my revenge one day and take lots of pics of him, whether he likes it or not..
).

This is the original color of the pics, it looked cooler in real life. The quality is quite bad, sorry 'bout that, it was not light enough to get clear pics without flash with my cheap camera which I barely can use..

this is what it normally looks like in daylight on that same spot

I don't know but they seemed to be wondering it, or something else outside. Kuura also spots his pink favorite mouse from quite far, he doesn't like other mice, not even the identical one which is just different color. Maybe they see it as some other color.

I've noticed that if I watch tv they get most interested about things shown in 'night vision'.

According to my Vet, cats do see different colours.

Abby has a thing for red toys. There can be a dozen toys of different colours and she will almost always go for the red one.

Spence has several feathered balls that rattle. One is red and one is pink. He will usually choose one of those over the other colours, unless he can't find the red or pink one, then any is fair game.

Look at the pink kitties!

Cats can see red, greens and blues (and thus purple). SUPPOSEDLY they have a stronger response to blues and greens - but I don't buy that for a minute. I'm not surprised to see that a number of kitties really respond to the red and pink colors. Tuxie LOVES his pink mice, and Shelly loves his red spring coil thingies.

Your cats are absolutely adorable! I love, love, LOVE them!!!

And my secret to photographing cats that don't want to be photographed is to wait until their sleeping and then take all the pictures you can before they wake up!

Why do scientists think that they know anything about what cats see anymore than they can discern exactly what another human being sees? It's all in perception and that no one can know without stepping into your brain.
I think that cats can see all colors, but they process it differently than humans do. Isn't that beautiful?

I agree, I agree! I've always wondered how scientists supposedly know how cats see. I've also wondered how they would know if dogs really do see in black and white. I know there must be some kind of scientific evidence, but really, we don't really know. We don't even know if people perceive colors the same! It's just one of the mysteries of the world...

Anyhow, your cats are beautiful NorthernGlow! I always love to see pictures of them. The pink is gorgeous on them!

I do that every now and then, but unfortunately my camera shy Utu isn't the most elegant sleeper there is so it's not really helping.. He usually looks more like a random roadkill or pile of fur instead of a cat.

See what I mean:

Oh my gosh, those sleeping Utu photos are absolutely hilarious! They totally just made my day! He definitely seems like quite the character!
