That's just what Turtle and I are taking to build this relationship...baby steps.
Last night she allowed me to brush her!! Only for a couple of minutes--glaring at me out of the corner of her eye, before she grabbed the brush and attacked it!!
And just now. She was dozing off and I gathered all my nerve and leaned over and gave her big kisses on her head!! She didn't run or complain about it BUT when I saw that fluffy tail of hers start whipping against the bed I knew I needed to cut the lovin' short...for my own good.
So I'm just tickled to death about these little accomplishments.

Aww, that's the best way to get her used to you and your attention. If she knows you'll get out of her face when she starts with the tail twitches, then she'll get less and less adverse to it and probably actually like it to go on for longer... Yay Turtle!!

You and Turtle are doing fine! She just needs to know that you're there and that you'll always be there for her.

When Banshee, our Bridge baby, used to start whipping her tail, I'd say, "Oh, stop it with the tail twitch! Calm down!" I think it actually got to be a joke between us.

Congratulations, you're getting there!

Yay Turtle! She'll be cuddling in no time.

I do that with Holland. I used to back off immediately when she gave me the "quit petting me" signals, now I just look at her twitching her tail and ask her what she's getting all worked up about... Of course, then she usually gets up and stalks off.
