I got Phaedra's first dose of Revolution today. However she wouldn't sit still long enough for me to completely part her hair and get it in the direct center. I even tried treats

So it's off to the side of her neck, will it still work?

I really hope so cause her ears have been bothering her so much, she constantly scratches them and shakes her head and meows at me, I feel so bad for her. I just want her ear mites and possible fleas to be gone.

Hey,

I should still be fine as long as you got the full dose onto her. The only reason they recommend administering the Revolution on the back of their neck is just so the cat is unlikely to be able to reach that spot to lick it off. If they do ingest some, it may just cause salivation and perhaps vomiting, but she should be fine.

Hope that helps!

Yup, so long as you got the full dose on her, it should do the job.
It's not toxic if they lick some of it - just unpleasant. (Had the same problem!)

I don't know if Phaedra is a rescue or an inside/outside cat, and I don't know how much you know about parasites, but just in case you don't know, to treat round worm, you need to apply a dose of Revolution (or whatever is being used) every three weeks at least twice, and best three times just to ensure success. Any of these poisons only kill the adult round worm, so you have to allow for the cycle of eggs to hatch and grow into adults - thus multiple treatments.

Thank you for your responses

LDG: She is an indoor cat
I planned on doing more than one treatment on her.. I read about how some of the parasites they can get need more than one treatment to get rid of
