1. Do you like horses? Have you ever ridden a horse? I love horses, and yes I have ridden several of them

When I was about 15 I took lessons for a summer, but I had to stop. When I am older I hope to own some property and would like to keep a horse or two.

2. What is your favorite wild animal? Big cats!!!! Surprise surprise. I love to see them doing cute stuff because the juxtaposition of cute and terror is fascinating

3. Have you ever had any reptiles? Do you like them? I haven't... growing up, my mom was (and still is I suppose) terrified of all kinds of wiggly things including snakes, lizards, etc. I have held several snakes at fairs and I think lizards are beautiful to look at... I don't know enough about caring for them to say whether or not I "like" them or would keep one as a pet. Will have to get more field data!

4. Do you own any other pets other than cats? Nope, just the three, plus my four at home. We had a dog growing up, a corgie/beagle mix named Josie. I like dogs, but only other people's dogs, lol, who I can pet and then send away when they get annoying which is usually very fast (sorry, all you dog people! I'm ducking from your spears!), but Josie was an exception. She was beautiful and wise, a fierce guard dog for the house with a great deal of discretion - no midnight barking at a squirrel, no howling, no running off, so that we knew that when she did bark there was something to be concerned about (usually an escaped horse from the neighbor's). She got along beautifully with the cats and enjoyed playing with them. There's a story that my grandfather likes to tell that I think illustrates Josie's character really well: We have a chiminea that the cats like to curl up in. My grandfather walked by Josie as she was laying by the porch one day and asked her, "Josie, where are the cats? Find the cats!" and Josie got up and stuck her nose in the mouth of the chiminea where the cats were sleeping!

She was a great dog and I think we've never gotten a new dog because of how much we loved her... she would be impossible to replace. Anyway, that was a long tangent, but I miss that sweetheart!!!!!! She's the only non-feline pet we've ever owned.

5. When you were a child and went to the zoo (I am assuming that you have been to a zoo

) what was your favorite zoo kept animal to see? I love giraffes... they are so goofy and fun! I've always enjoyed letting them lick my hand with their long, weird tongues

6. Have you ever been to a farm? What is your favorite farm animal? I grew up on a farm!

When my grandparents built the house where I grew up and where my family still lives, there were no other houses and it was all corn field. In addition to the corn they kept cows and chickens and horses. None of the animals are still at the house, and the land was sold and other houses were built, so I was teasing a bit when I said I grew up on a farm, but my aunts & uncles do farm and I also enjoy visiting local farms, so you could call me a farm girl anyway

As far as my favorite farm animal goes, I like pigs. I like how ugly they are.

It's endearing.


7. Have you ever gone fishing? If so, did you enjoy it? Yes, growing up as a daddy's girl I went fishing with my dad many times! I did and do enjoy it, I still go with my brother sometimes - he goes almost every weekend and always catches a big un!

8. How many cats have you owned so far in your life? What are/were their names? In order, I have owned Matilda (

), Muffin (

), Pumpkin, Caroline, Timmy (

), Maggie (

), Princess, Bobo, Simon, Garfunkel, and Joni! That makes 11 cats total, 7 of whom are still with us.

9. Have you ever volunteered at a shelter? I haven't yet, but just filled out an application to volunteer!!!

10. Have you ever gone to a rodeo? Have you ever ridden a bull?

Would you ever want to try?

I haven't been to a rodeo and can't say that I would be interested in trying to ride a bull, LOL!!!!! I'm very much invested in staying alive for the next 70 years or so

Oh, anything! One time when I was home alone for the weekend at my parent's and I let in the cats (the ones that will come in, anyway), I was singing Sara Bareilles "Love Song" at full volume when Pumpkin came running into the bathroom howling - either he was singing along or he thought I was dying

I really like Regina

Emotionally I'd choose John, I've read several biographies and love the story of his life and his caustic yet sincere and sweet at times personality. Ultimately though, I think I'm a Paul girl. I got really into Paul McCartney & Wings - Paul's solo stuff, but wasn't too much into John's solo stuff.

I've never seriously injured myself, just many and frequent small injuries

The worst was probably last September, when I fell in the parking lot at work and fractured my ankle and busted open my knee. I have a huge, dark, raspberry-like scar on my kneecap that hasn't faded at all

3. Do you love where you live?...

Hmm, yes! I do want to move to Vermont when I get older, but for now, with my family close by and all my friends around - it's a great place! I live in the capitol of Virginia - Richmond, and it's got a lot to do and see, and is only a few hours from most everything you could want - Washington DC, the beach, the mountains, etc. My one complaint is HEAT................................... UGH! Check out this heat index map from yesterday...

The highest heat index temperature recorded is marked in yellow. Well, find the ONLY yellow spot on this map... THAT'S WHERE I LIVE!!!! It's been awful, awful, awful, awful.

4. How many TVs do you have in your house?....

Just one, on loan from a friend. I have a DVD player and a Wii console hooked up, no cable! lol!

Me!!! I am the loudest of my group of friends.

Ohhhhhhh, sooooo many!!!!! I love Stephen King novels, I'm about to hit the 30 mark for how many I've read. There's a book called Ordinary People by Judith Guest that I read in tenth grade and changed my life and my outlook on everything and every relationship I've ever had... still one of my favorites. Barbara Kingsolver, especially Prodigal Summer. There's an author named Curtis Sittenfeld (a woman) who has written two books I'm especially fond of, Prep and American Wife. I could go on & on & on & on & on & on & on.......

9. Do you collect anything?... Yes, champagne glasses.
