I have two strays brother & pregnant sister that have been living in my garage/outside since June 23rd.
We are experiencing a heat wave that will last for at least a weeks with very high humidity and temps in the low 90's.
A rescue group is taking the female -well I'm dropping her off Wed morning but they do not have room for the male (trying to remedy).
Currently the service door of the garage is open and they either laying on the floor but it is still pretty warm so laying under my giant hosta plants in the shade. I've kept that door open at night though with the cat food I'm hesitant to continue as I do not want to attract other animals.
I'm not sure what I should do during the day when I'm gone as the garage will be way to hot and I don't want them in the house with my cats.
My only thought is I could keep them in our other outbuilding as though it is wood framed the 1st floor is all mortar and stone and much cooler than our attached garage.
Thoughts?

, Are they friendly? Can you touch them and pick them up or get them into a crate? I would move them to that cooler out building. The garage is way too hot for cats during the day in these summer temps, you are right. And also, you will be attracting other critters to your garage with the food sitting out so that other location will be better than the garage, I think. Maybe just try to relocate them to that out building and start feeding them in there and if you can just leave the door open slightly for them to come and go as they please. Then they can choose to find another place to cool themselves if needed. That is very good news that you found a place to take the pregnant female. How nice of you to care for these strays.

Glad you moved them! I'm so glad you found someone to take in the female.
