The USA vs. Japan soccer/football final will be starting in just a few minutes. The U.S. team has been world champions twice. Japan, who has never won against the U.S. (in 25 games) or won the championship, beat Germany and Sweden to get to the final.

Any predictions?

I LOVE soccer and its great to see the US step up one time or another.

The Japanese women will play very emotional and play for the thought of redeeming their country after such natural disasters

But I think the US will play equally as strong with Hope Solo maning the goal line and Abby Wambach on the frontline.

Overall I think the US is a stronger team and I'll make the hometown pick of US - 2 - Japan - 1

I watched it, and a few friends came over too. What a game!!! Too bad USA missed a billion gazillion opportunities early on. I thought it should've been 5-0 within the first 20 minutes or so.
Anyway, Japan needed a boost too, so I'm not too sad that USA lost. Penalty kicks is no way to win or lose a final though, it's just lame.

I don't like the penalty kicks, either, but the playoff games would probably drag to eternity without them.

Congratulations to the Japanese team! It was an exciting game, and I think their whole country really needed a positive experience.
