Let me introduce Nala! She is 14 weeks olda and from the local cat recue center. She is a short-haired Mackarel Tabby cat who loves to both play and cuddle
I am so happy we got her and I've followed all of your instructions to a tee. I'm happy we got her from the shelter (my mom was swayed because she was very calm when I held her at the shelter, and by the facts that farm cats tend to be a little wild and are much more expensive as far as initial vet bills). She is doing great so far. We had her in one room for 2 days and now she has access to the whole first floor and a little bit of the upstairs (but she mainly chooses to stay in her room, our dining/living room and on the stairs. Soon enough I think she will get a feel for the whole house. She is totally litter box trained and is eating/drinking fine. Im very very very very happy Nala is ours now

She's a cutie!! Love her sweet little face. I am owned by a not so little brown mackerel tabby and he's a handful! I hope you have as much fun with Nala as I've had with my boy.

I am so glad she came home with us! Shes a wonderful pet! Very playful, but mostyl calm. Shes just a little skiddish when she hears footsteps so I feel a little bad for that. I too feel bad that we could not bring her brother home with us as well, but he was a long hair and we only needed one kitten. Shes already developed her favorite toys, spots to rest and things to scratch (all appropriate
) She loves to walk around me in circle looking for head scratches on each turn. She's a little angel

Thank you for adopting a tabby cat. After black cats, they are the hardest to get adopted at shelters across the USA.

She is absolutely adorable. It's great to see her settling in so nicely.

Really!? She was a cute comprimise between my mom, sister and I. I want a black cat (tuxedo really, so not all black). But I still think she's amazingly cute!
I dont know if you know hwy, but why are tabby's so hard to a dopt?

I had to ask the same question about Tabby's as well as black kittens
. I think some people are 'kitten racist' and tend to look for 'pure breed' or unique physical characteristics even when rescuing. Tabby kittens are more common as far as color, but anyone who has had the pleasure of living with any one of them knows how unique each one is, especially Maia! Yes she is looking over my shoulder right now......

We have a little tux kitten right now, fostering for the shelter. He was going to be put to sleep. Now he's entertaining us and our four adult cats!

By the way, what we call a "tabby" actually looks like the original cat, the little African Wildcat, that walked into towns in Egypt and made large grain storage facilities possible, making large cities possible, so that little tabby cat is a descendent of one of the key developments in modern civilization!
