cause for concern? (Longish)

Hi all,

I am having some confusions with Monet.

It's been almost a week since Picasso came home, and he's had a rough time.

Picasso was sick when she came home, keep that in mind.

For the past few days, Monet has either been OK with me snuggling him or he'd complain. Depends on where Picasso is or what I was doing with her. (ie, if I came out of the bathroom after being alone for a few mins with Picasso, he's unhappy and lets me know), or if Picasso approaches me while I pet him.

When I come home from work, I usually spend some time with Monet before letting Picasso out of the bathroom. Most of the time he's normal, and he protests when I try to pick him up.

Today, I came home from lunch, and he was groaning when I pulled him in my lap, giving strange meows, especially when I picked him up. He wasn't letting me touch his back legs. This made me worried about the virus and if he caught it.

But otherwise, he's acting fine, jumping (not as much though) when playing, walking without a limp, chasing Picasso.. he even play-bit her for the first time today.

He's alert, eating and is currently trying to get at a bee outside the window. I am hoping someone may gather that he's still unhappy, or he's changed a bit because of her and he's more vocal for attention? He's making new sounds that I've never heard before, and I'd like to think that he "learned' how to growl and is doing it more.

I don't want to jump into conclusions that he's caught the virus (until I see some sure signs such as he's not eating or being very mopey).. I would like to think if he'd get sick from Picasso, he would've gotten sick by now.

I hope this post makes sense, I am kinda loopy now, lol

Forgot to mention.. Monet was Microchipped and had a quick physical exam on Weds night. He was fine, but could the microchip make him sore still?

They microchip him in the shoulder? That's where our kitties got it. It didn't seem to bother them.

If he's eating, active, and going to the bathroom like normal, it could be he's sore from the microchip, and/or Picasso has brought out new sounds in him LOL. Spooky is STILL growing sometimes at Chumley - and as of tomorrow, he'll have been inside full time for a year. (She's very pissy about a lot of things). And even though she was pissy with almost all the intros, Chumley's brought out some new sounds from her.

He may also be asking for more attention. For a few days, when you let Picasso out, maybe try just focusing on him. (I know, it's hard). If there's anyway to "sneak" Picasso from the bathroom to the bedroom for some alone time play with her, maybe work it that way for a few days?
