Good morning!

We are working on our yard sale and this is the second of three days. We're not doing too badly, I guess.

So my question for you is:

Do you go to yard sales? If you do, what kinds of items will you buy?

It is such a staple here, everyone has yard sales or garage sales! Crazy!

I used to 'yard sale' often with my sister, but I don't go out on purpose anymore. It depends what I need, but I buy anything really.

I LOVE yard sales!
We've bought all kinds of things... Last time we went I got a couple of brand name purses, a brand new heated pet bed (for sick fosters or new kittens.), clothes, plates with kitties on them, etc. etc. You never know what you're going to find!

We have what they call "Car boot sales" which is where they pay a few ££ to get access onto a field to sell their stuff, but they only have them on certain dates.

I'd make a fortune on my driveway if we did them here, but every couple of weeks a charity bag gets pushed through the door for cancer research, heart foundation etc..because they have shops to sell it on, so l just fill them because it's for a worthy cause

We call those swap meets or flea markets over here, Susan.

Yard sales, garage sales, estate sales (yard sales with attitude), rummage sales, love em.
Even have one ourselves when its not too hot/windy.

Last time my family had a yard sale, only the games and books went, lol. We probably should've advertised more!

As for going, sometimes I get in the mood to go yard-sale hopping. I almost never buy anything, but you never know what kind of treasures you'd run into!

I've been searching recently though, looking for vintage My Little Pony and other 80's toys.

My parents used to drag me to yard sales all the time when I was younger. I am now traumatized and thus I don't go ever.

I would certainly not mind having one at one point, though... we have neighborhood sales, so I may jump in on the next one!

My Friday and Saturday mornings are reserved for yard sale shopping. I've been going since I was a teenager. I buy a lot of things for re-sale, but I'm always picking up books, craft supplies, dolls that need some loving, primitives and country decor, yard ornaments---I'll buy just about anything if I can get it for a good price. Unfortunately, s lot of folks think their junk is better than every one else's junk and ask waaaaay too much for it.

I just came in from some sales: I got a Cabbage Patch Kid for 25 cents and a tiny china tea set for $1.

I do stop at the garage sales this time of year. Not too many, but the ones in my neighborhood. I just love to see what might be there, just in case
. I once found the most adorable kitty cookie jar. I also found some end tables for my basement on either side of my couch down there.

Hope you do well with selling everything at your yard sale !!!

I might if I knew they had some good kid stuff and I got up early enough. I am not a morning person and Saturday is my day to sleep in while DH feeds and entertains DD.

I think that if you have babies/small kids, you can really do well at yard sales. And sometimes you can find some cool stuff. . .but mostly it's just junk. When the neighborhoods are having their sales I'll sometimes cruise around looking for pet supplies (mostly carriers and large aquariums, and both are fairly rare to find) but other than that I never find anything I want/need at yard sales.

We don't go to yard sales that often, simply because I can never find anything I really need. If I know where I can find some good books or some nice cookbooks, I'll go early, just to peruse. I'm always looking for nice planters for house plants and to plant flowers for outside and sometimes I can find some for a good price. And I love to look at kitchen items, not appliances, but maybe nice glasses or mixing bowls and the like.

We weren't impressed with our sale. For three days of work, we cleared about $250. Still, it's $250 we wouldn't have had, I guess. It goes into the kitty for my sister and I to spend a weekend in New York City in December. And we managed to get rid of more of our aunt's things.

Everybody was looking for clothing. Kids clothes, young adult clothes, etc. I think everybody asked us what we had in the way of clothing. And we had no clothes at all.

There are still a lot of kitchen items left and they are going to our GoodWill and to the American Rescue Workers organizations. There are also things that DH will be taking to the landfill next weekend.

No pictures, I'm sorry. I didn't even think about taking pictures.

I've never been to a yard sale in my life actually...I am tempted to have a yard sale though, because I have so many items that I could get rid of, but are in perfect condition I just have no use for them...

I haven't been to a yard sale in years, though I'm always tempted to stop by and look! I've bought items off craigslist that were listed to be sold during a yard sale a few times.

I had so much fun running a yard sale with my friend's family way back as a kid, and always have wanted to do another one. I think my parents need to have one - I certainly don't have enough stuff at my house for one!

That is so strange to me; if a sale advertizes mostly clothing I don't even bother to go.

Yes, I love them! The only thing that can get me up early on a Saturday morning.
I usually buy vintage furniture/decor (really into vintage stuff), books, purses/bags (bit of an addict
) and sometimes clothes if they're my style and in very good condition/not very old.
I looooove second hand shopping of all kinds.

ETA: I live in a very wealthy neighbourhood (unfortunately I myself am a broke student
and only ended up living in this neighbourhood because of commuting circumstances), so people can afford to sell really nice stuff really cheaply.
