Garys bday is at the end of the month and we are throwing a rather large birthday party for him! But I am trying to figure out a good theme to decorate in! Any suggestions?
He's turning 25 btw

What about:

Favourite hobby
Favourite sports team
Favourite food theme IE: Greek, Italian, Chinese, Mexican, Island etc
Favourite movie
Favourite toys growing up
Favourite colours

Maybe instead of decorating for a birthday, decorate for Christmas or Easter or Halloween other holiday that isn't current.

Or even decorate like it was a kid's party. Hire a clown etc.

What about an 80's party? People could even dress the part....spandex, shoulder pads, big hair, bright colours, punk rockers, leggings, tons of jewelry etc.

Maybe a 60's party. Again people could dress the part. Come as hippies.

I was going to suggest that until I saw how young Gary is!
I grew up in the 80's, so every 80's party I've been to has been a ton of fun.

We did this for my parents' 40th anniversary a few years ago. They were married just after the "Summer of Love" (1967) so I loaded my iPod up with a ton of songs that were popular that year, and everyone dressed up. That was fun too.

Let's see...

You could do a casino night, or a Hawaiin luau, I think my brother and SIL went to a redneck party once where everyone wore their overalls and flannel, and drank cans of Budweiser!

I'm definitely thinking about using some christmas lights, for nothing else but just so we can have a big area lit up! LOL
We have actually though about renting a bounce castle lol! Or one of the blow up obstacle courses! We are gonna call and see how much it would be lol!

We did a Margaritaville themed party for his 21st lol! It was a blast! I have though about doing another luau party like that just because its easy to decorate! And cheap!

Oooo I think I figured it out! I think we may do a western theme since its a big bbq! What I've found for decorations:
red gingham table clothes
blue bandanas
barbed wire garland
old timey looking lamps that I am debating on citronella candles for
And little metal buckets to put peanuts in (theres a not-so-family-friendly story behind that LOL)

Oh and sitting up a photobooth kind of thing with some hay bales and cowboy hats

We did a tiki bar theme for DH's 60th birthday and it turned out really nice. I got some decorations and such from the Oriental Trading Company (good stuff and not expensive at all).

I looked and looked for tiki-themed invitations and couldn't find anything, so I decided to make my own.

We bought other items from local party stores. We had tiki torches in the back yard outside the tent, and inside, we decorated with colorful parrots and big tropical leaves. The tables were covered with hibiscus tablecloths and grass skirts. We also strung some colorful little lights in some of the tree branches that we could turn on when it got dark outside. We had some lights that can be used in our pool, but we had those in the tent for decor, too.

DH built a great tiki bar that we're now using in the back yard; it started out as something that we could take apart when the party was finished, but we got a little too involved with it and it's pretty much a permanent fixture now.

My brother took pictures of everything and I really want to post them. But he STILL hasn't sent them to me yet! They're doing a scrapbook thing from the pictures and that's not finished. The only pictures I have on my phone is of the birthday cake.

(If you lived closer, we could loan you some of our stuff!!)
