Wish us luck!!!!!

Hopefully this should be their last "new kitten" visit. Tonight they'll get the last of a booster shot (don't quite remember which one), rabies vaccine, and be examined to see if those stupid ear mites are FINALLY GONE. Let's hope so!

Their first visit to the vet was okay so they didn't have any trouble going back, but they were terrified and upset after their second one - so I'm hoping all goes well today!

Good luck! Hope all is well and they can stay home and not have to go to that awful awful place again for another year!

Although, a lot of vets encourage people to bring their pets in for a visit to the front desk and just to get a treat - so they don't keep thinking 'car ride equals awful'. However, hasn't worked for me
.

Good luck!

Thanks y'all! The boys did pretty well. They got 3 vaccinations tonight - distemper & FeLV boosters, & rabies. They are all set until a routine deworming in January!

They DO, however, STILL. HAVE. EAR. MITES.

I paid big bucks to get them the one-time "zap" treatment three weeks ago. It didn't work.
So this time I just bought the bottle medicine that I'll use for two weeks, and hopefully that takes care of it. It's frustrating because it means that Joni will most likely get ear mites when I bring her home a week from tomorrow.
But, the bottle will treat like 50 cats he said, lol, it's so big, so if she does need treatment, I've already paid for it.

We're home and settled now, the boys starting purring again before we even left the exam room, so they're fine.

Garfunkel has passed the 5-pound mark! He's 5.1 pounds, and Simon's almost there at 4.8 pounds. I did ask the vet if he thought they would be giants the way I feel like they're growing and he said no,
We'll see!

Aww, sorry about the ear mites. Hopefully this treatment will get rid of them for good!

It's weird, Dorothy had gunky ears and seemed to twitch and scratch them a lot when we first got her. And then Genever seemed to be cleaning them out for her because they weren't so gunky anymore (G washes Dot's face a lot), and when I mentioned it to the vet, she took a swab and checked, and it wasn't mites!? So she said we could clean out her ears every once in a while, or just let Genever keep taking care of it.
We've done the latter, and her ears are pretty clean, hardly any brown stuff anymore, though she does seem sensitive if you're petting/scratching her head and get around her ears, they'll twitch a lot. Who knows.. Anyway, sorry for that rambling... Glad to hear your boys are doing well and growing up into big boys!

I'm glad they did well at the vet. You could try Revolution for the ear mites. It worked for
Lynxx
, and Midnight.
