I posted more info about Artie's front paw amputation in the "Cat Health" forum, but I wanted to post a few photos here as well.

Post amputation Day 1:

Artie hated his cape.

I modified (with the vet's approval) a newborn's onesie (sewed up the area over the amputation site). Artie was very happy to be rid of the cape.

His brother Elvin telling him everything will be okay.

This morning, he slept in the bed next to Artie's crate!

Thank you for the update and the photos. You've got a couple of sweeties! They do love each other, don't they.

Aww, poor guy! Good thinking about trying the baby onesie instead of the dreaded cape/cone.
Best wishes for a quick recovery! And that's really sweet that Elvin's keeping Artie company.

I hope your cat feels better soon. I too missed the story of why your cat needed the amputation. If it is posted someplace else would you be kind enough to post the link so I could see it?

I love the photo of your other cat sitting with the "patient". That is true
if you ask me. Or at least proof that some cats are social
.

Yes, Elvin is being quite the sweetheart!

This is the thread explaining the amputation a bit (same pictures): http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/sho...43#post3088143

This is the link to an older thread (talking about Artie's disability) from when we adopted Artie: http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=230325

Thank you all for the kind wishes!

He looks like he's doing great!! So glad his "brother" is there to help him out and be with him.
Praying he continues to improve and his amputation site heels completely.

Thank you for posting those other two links. I think it is great you chose to adopt a cat with a disability. Having done foster/re homing (personal) and working in a no kill shelter, with domestic cats I found it VERY hard to get a cat like your Artie adopted. So again I feel you deserve a lot of credit for adopting him
.

I also have to say I love the names of your other cats
.
