DH has become friends with our neighbor. They have a son close to our daughter's age and they have some similar interests too. Unfortunately he and his wife have decided to move across the country to where the wife is originally from. It's been hard for him to find work and they like it there. The cool thing (for them) is that his family decided to go too! His parents and sister and her family.

Sounds great...till I found out the sister had to leave her dog behind. I guess they left this weekend sometime because that is when I first saw the new dog. Our neighbor won't be going till he sells his house and it's not even on the market yet. I noticed this little dog out back with his 2 dogs (who he is taking, I asked a long time ago). So tonight DH asked about the little dog. Basically his sister left it up to him to take her to the SPCA or find a home. He told DH he just doesn't have the heart to do it yet (taking her to the SPCA).

She is 5-6 years old, house trained, etc. She only barked once at my daughter and I, and not in that loud annoying way some little dogs can.
I'm not sure of her breed. She has had her ears cropped and I assume her tail as well. She's kind of got the colors of a mini-pincer I guess; but I don't know if that is what she is, her build looks kind of different. But I also haven't gotten too close to her.

I feel so bad. I hate knowing these things because I get so emotional!! I've been wondering if he couldn't just take the little dog with his 2. It's really not time to add a dog to our family and having 2 cats pushes it with DH's allergies as it is. I don't know the circumstances of WHY she had to leave her behind; but it breaks my heart. I'm going to ask around to see if I can find someone looking for a new dog.
