Update on Lucas...I'm panicking:(

Hello everyone:

Lucas has been doing a lot better since he has been eating Blue Wilderness and also since he's been on 10mg of prednisolone.

The vet told me to lower his dose to 7.5mg, so I've been doing that for 3 days and I've been praying like crazy that he does well on that dose. BUt today I see that his skin is getting red again and I'm panicking ! I was so happy thinking he would do good on a lower dose, but he isn't. He was even playing yesterday and looking wonderful. But now, I feel uncertain about everything. he is looking sad today.

My friend takes 5mg of prednisolone because she has arthritis (she is only 27 years old) and her dr says she needs to lower the dose because it is too much. I know humans are different than cats, but I can't help to think that my Lucas is only 9lbs and he takes double that, it makes me worry.

I will have to call the vet and see what he says.

here are some pics, as you can see Lucas hair is growing back and it is growing darker, but that doesn't make a difference to me, I just want him to be ok.

Oh sweetie!

All I know is that cats tolerate steroids better than people, and one of the article links I sent up before indicated that up to 3mg per pound is non-toxic to cats for short-term therapy, and 1mg for long term.

to you both!

Just to get it in a different light, my Dad takes 40mg a day. Dont let your friends dose worry you to much

I take it when I am sick or going over someones house with pets as I am allergic and pretty much built tollerance to my own cats.
