Ok, after today I promise I'm going to put on my "big-girl" panties and STOP whining. Just give me this moment...I'm pretty sure I have pink eye!!
I woke up this morning and my eye is red, red, red and it was matted shut. So I self-diagnosed it as pink eye. I don't know how i got it. I'm fanatical about hand washing and very rarely put my hands up to my face. I had it once before when I was a child and it went untreated for so long it damaged my vision.
Isn't it really contagious? If so it probably wouldn't be good to go to work in a restaurant with pink eye. eh?

Well pink eye I don't think can damage your eye if not treated since if left untreated it will cure itself within 14 days.

You can just go to the drug store and buy the polysporin drops and it will clear right up.

We have had pink eye many many times.....everytime it goes through my boys school we all end up getting it! Even the rabbit got it last time

For sure you can handle it yourself.

They sell the drops behind the counter though so you have to ask the pharmicist for it
Definately not something you have to go to the doctor for.

You can also get pink eye from mascara, eyeliner, etc. It's reccomended you change all your eye make up every 3mths because of bacteria growth.

I really don't know about transferring it Turtle, I just googled it and some say yes and some say no. I would worry about yourself first and then just watch Turtle.

It might not be pink eye at all. I went to an urgent care once convinced I had pink eye. I didn't have it. I was diagnosed with Blepharitis, which is inflammation of the eyelash follicles. I was given anti-biotic eye ointment and instructed to make sure that when I wash my face that I pay some extra attention to my eyes to prevent it from happening again. I actually use baby shampoo to wash my eye lashes twice daily.

AWW (your whining about Turtle not getting close to you
) but then at least you don't have to worry about her getting it, right

I am sorry
you have pink eye and it is very contagious. I don't think you should go into work. There are drops you can get from the doctor and by tomorrow morning you should be much better if you can start them today!! I also have heard some say it is not contagious to cats and other's say it is
Sure hope you can get into the doc to get those drops.

p.s. Just saw Brandy's post - That is great to know about being able to get the drops from the pharmacist

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
I'd talk to the pharmacist - and if it clears up in - how many days? It was Pink Eye. If not, you need to see the Doc!

This is hardly whining! I used to get it a lot as a kid - because it is VERY contagious, so we were always giving it to each other, especially in the summer with the swimming and everything.
