HI Rigel, Captain Cool
!!!! My power was out this morning, bad storm. But I am back up and running PHEW!!!!! I didn't want you to start getting mad
and push me to the plank

1.- ¿Do you know MÃ[emoji]169[/emoji]xico?
…as a country or as a city?
I know Mexico as a country!! And then there is Mexico City within Mexico

2.- ¿Wich part exactly?
are you came by business or by vacations?
I have been to Tijuana and went through the markets. I had my first Corona beer sitting at a cafe on the street. I have also been to Cancun, Riviera Maya!! I just loved my trip and the beaches are absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful white sand and deep blue water. I thought it was one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited.

3.- Have you ever hearded about MÃ[emoji]169[/emoji]rida Yucatán MÃ[emoji]169[/emoji]xico????..
.. Is the place where I´m live!
….As you can see in Yucatán is located Chichen Itza (Mayan Ruins) one of the New 7 wonders of the Modern world!...

Here´s the link my friend..(about my city and you can see something too about Chichen….http://www.yucatantoday.com/index.php
Yes, I have heard of Merida Yucatan Mexico. Never been there. I know it must be a spectacular place to live, very beautiful

4.- Can you speak spanish?
Si, un poco. Mi esposo, Lorenzo (Larry
) habla espanol muy bien. Everyone knows this one - Donde el bano??? Muy informacion importante, si??? Soy de Chicago, Illinois, America!! Que Lo Pase Bien!!!!

5.- Do you have some CD of Spanish music? do you like it?

I do LOVE spanish music, but I don't have any CD's.
.. Lo siento, mi amigo

6.- Have you ever to watched a Mexican Movie? ( I mean with Spanish Dialogs?)
Si, I have seen - All About My Mother (Todo Sobre Mi Madre) About a boy who never knew his father and how the mother leaves Madrid to find him. I thought it was good.

7.-Do you like the Mexican Food?
( do you have any preference for example: burritos, Tacos, rice & beans, etc?)
YES!!! I love, love taquitos and tostada's, my FAV!!!. I love beans too
and guacamole on everything

8.-Do you like the Tequila?
...or else Mexican Alcoholic beverage?
HEE HEE
... I do like Tequila. Patron to be exact

9.- Have you ever to sleeped in a hammock?
I have napped in a hammock, so I guess that would be sleeping. But never slept a night in one. When I was a kid, my dad set-up a hammock in our backyard and we would all play on it. My brother's broke it. They would spin it around and roll eachother up in it,

10.- Have you ever to saw the traditional mexican clothes?

Well, when I was in Mexico, especially Tijuana, I saw alot of women and men in what was "traditional" mexican clothing. I love the clothes, very eccentric and artistic looking, IMO

11.- Do you to know Cancun Mexico? ( Is a beach)
( here´s the link my friend: )
http://www.travelyucatan.com/cancun.php
YES!!! I was there about five years ago!! A wonderful vacation with my hubby, Larry. It was our twentieth anniversary. We stayed in Riviera Maya at an all inclusive resort. I wish I were there right now, I can dream, right

OH wow, I am done with my first blast of questions
. Great questions, Captain Cool
So far so good....... Hasta Luego, Mi Amigo!!!

I am having to use my phone for internet today
my internet is down!!!! The keypad is small but that won't stop me from answering questions, so I won't have to jump ship

1. What's your favorite hobby?...

I ride horses!!!! For twenty five years now. Train dressage horses. I sold my upper level dressage horse last fall to focus more time on cat rescue and my own kitties, but ride and train two if my friends horses. Magnificent animals. I will someday get another dressage prospect, but not anytime soon!!

2. What's one trait you hate about yourself?....

I tend to be a perfectionist and it is tiring and draining! I am working on trying not to be so concerned with every little detail in life.

3. Name 3 thoughts at this exact moment:….

1. I wish my internet would come back.
2. I would like you to walk the plank

3. I need to get to the store for.milk!!

4. What do you read in the bathroom?....

Nothing, that's a man thing!

5. Current worry right now?....

My mom and praying she recovers quickly from her accident.

6. Hight heels or low heels are you wearing right now?....

Barefoot
I never wear high heels though. I preferred low heeled shoes because I am tall.

7. Favorite place to be on weekends?....

Truthfully just staying at home with my cats and hubby. Maybe get in a ride at the barn too!

8. Where would you like to go?.....

Oh far, far away from here, at the moment! I could really use a vacation. Of course, I don't like to leave my cats, so would like them to join me wherever I go. And, Larry, of course!
Maybe to Mexico

9. What´s your Favourite pop soda….

I used to love diet cherry Dr. Pepper. But I don't drink pop anymore
. I do miss it but am now drinking those flavored waters instead!!

10. What colour shirt or blouse are you wearing right now?....

IF, I was wearing one
, it would be pink!!!!!
(we have to have some fun with these questions, right???)

Muchas Gracias !!!!!
This is fun
. Keep 'em coming.

I am going to answer the bottom part of you question and Larry will answer the top part of you question later!!! HEE HEE

OH NO, I don't think Corona beer is better than my American brewed beers! BUT, Corona is refreshing with a lime or lemon on a hot summer day. My favorite beer is............. Blue Moon with TONS of oranges in it.
BUT I also just love a margarita and usually enjoy one on the weekend when we go out for Mexican cuisine at our favorite Mexican restaurant.

P.S.
I now have my computer back because of my new smart phone!!!
It is so smart it can become a Wi-Fi hookup. We had bad storms
come through my area this morning. I still have power thank goodness, but alot of people don't and it is very, very hot and humid. Our internet is down, but because of my new smart phone (I
you phone
) I can hookup my computer to it. Well, Larry, my geeky
hubby did it for me.

Goodness, here I am shutting down, probably for the day, and I realize I haven't checked for this thread! My bad! My very bad! Here we go...

Welcome to the Spotlight! To start off, a few general questions, but there's a theme (mostly): Desert island, i.e. suppose you were stranded on one... and don't worry about the technology to support your choices, that will be taken care of somehow. Just dream...

1. What would be your five Desert Island CDs? They don't need to come from your own collection. Why would you choose these particular ones?

2. You might also want some reading material. What would be your five Desert Island books? Why?

3. What else would you like to have with you to occupy your time and your mind?

4. You'll also need food. If you could have only two or three foods and nothing else, what would you choose? Why?

5. If you could have one human companion, who would that be? Why?

This one is not part of the theme:

6. If you came into a large sum of money -- an unexpected inheritance, a winning, whatever, but "set-you-up-for-life" big -- what would be the first four things you would do?

Back later with more...enjoy your week!

He says, no comprendo todo paro comprendo parte y muchas gracias y yo entiendo que tu dices. En mi mal espanol. And I add
, whatever that means
. He also says, he won't come on the site because wifey
won't let him.
This is MY thing, and he has enough to do on a computer all day...

OH my, that would have been just terrible if you had forgotten to ask you questions
. OK, here goes....

1. What would be your five Desert Island CDs? They don't need to come from your own collection. Why would you choose these particular ones?
Let's see......

1. Peter Frampton - Comes Alive
2. Van Halen - Van Halen
3. Cold Play - Parachutes
4. Heart - Little Queen
5. Elton John - Yellow Brick Road

2. You might also want some reading material. What would be your five Desert Island books? Why?

1. The Great Gatsby - F. Scott Fitzgerald - the greatest story ever !
2. The Hobbit - JRR Tolkien - You can read it over and over and never tire of it.
3. IT - Stephen King - So I can give myself a scare - I love his psycho thriller stories.
4. Probably a book on survival!!!! Good idea in this situation

5. And some Tom Clancy novels - like Hunt for Red October....

3. What else would you like to have with you to occupy your time and your mind?
Well, of course, my husband, Larry, my dogs Wilbur and Henry, and last but not least my cats. And enough pet food to feed them FOREVER

4. You'll also need food. If you could have only two or three foods and nothing else, what would you choose? Why?
Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches - and a never ending supply and whole wheat bread. Peanut butter would offer alot of calories/protein and I would want strawberry jelly, because I have a sweet tooth and LOVE the taste of that jelly. Plus, my dogs love peanut butter too
. Asparagus, because I love that vegetable and I need to eat something healthy.

5. If you could have one human companion, who would that be? Why?
Larry!!! Because he is my forever human companion!

This one is not part of the theme:

6. If you came into a large sum of money -- an unexpected inheritance, a winning, whatever, but "set-you-up-for-life" big -- what would be the first four things you would do?
OH that would be sooooooo great!! First, I would get my parents a boat, their dream boat, or should I say yacht to use up in Door County. Then, I would pay off our mortgage. Then, I would build the biggest, best cat shelter I could manage. With LOTS of large outdoor enclosures. Would also have feral cat sections and enclosures. Of course, we would have to move then to a good, cool year-round climate for all of the cats to be able to enjoy the outdoors comfortably.

Thank you
for the questions!! This is more fun than I thought it would be.
I am looking forward to this week

Good thing I wasn't drinking anything when I read the answer to that one!

And don't tell Gary I really like Elton John - he's a music snob and Elton John doesn't make his list.

Fun answers!

OK - let's start with my typical.

Tell us 10 things (going easy on you (for now LOL) - I've asked for as many as 25!) about you that we don't already know.

Oh goody!! I am glad you showed up today
!! I, also, btw have been having Internet issues
. Ok, here goes........

1. I have three younger brothers and one older sister.
2. I am terrified of ticks
. Seriously, I really am. I can handle spiders, and even earwigs
, but ticks make me freak!
3. I love to do needlepoint.
4. I played the piano for nine years as a child and played recitals at the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago with my teacher, duets.
5. I love to sing and would try out for American Idol if they raise the age limit

6. I love rhinos

7. I would like to live way up North, even Alaska. I thrive in cold weather. I am like my dad, he and I both hate hot weather.
8. I have trained and shown an off-the-track racehorse Throughbred to the FEI levels of Dressage. Most horses in upper level dressage are warmbloods.
9. I have two tattoos. For my dog, Wilbur. Angels.
10. I love popcorn with Good N Plenty candy. Especially at the movies.

And one more for good measure....
11. I used to be a dog/cat groomer. Worked in a shop for about ten years. And also, can body clip a whole horse in about an hour

Now, I am going to get some ZZZZZs, catch ya tomorrow my friend

OH YOU ARE
and relentless..... but I went to sleep anyway, but am ready for day two in the chopping block. Go ahead Captain
Cool, ask away
, but don't get me too
or I will come to Mexico and

Yes, I have owned three horses in the last twenty five years. All of them were Throughbred horses off the track
. Their names were Winter (a grey gelding), Andante
(a bay gelding) and Truman (a chestnut gelding). I trained Winter to do the jumping. Andante was my Dressage superstar horse. I still see him as a great lady bought him and is still showing him in upper level dressage. And Truman, well, he hated Dressage and I sold him to a dear friend who rides him western out on the trails. You would have like Truman, Rigel, he loved to be outside, loved hot weather and like only to walk. Anybody could have ridden him. Even you

Yes, I do have ALOT of horse collectables. From ceramic statues to paintings on the walls. I love to go antique shopping and will grab up horse sculptures there when I see them. I have some horse cards too. But my calendars are always CATS
. Actually, owning horses is what started my love of the feral cats as many of them hang around barns due to the mice population. That is when I really started loving the feral cat and becoming an advocate for them.

Adios, Amigo
Hasta Luego!!!

Good afternoon, Lauren!
I'll bet you thought I forgot about you, didn't you?
No such luck: I got tied up yesterday and didn't get a chance to log on to TCS - but I'm here now.
I surely don't want to disappoint you!
I see Arnold has already kept you quite busy, so I promise to go easy on you.....NOT!
I'll start with my standard set of questions that I ask of the other Spotlight Members: I hope you don't get too stressed out this week!

1) How did you find the Cat Site? How long have you been a member? What brought you here?

2) Do you have any kids/grandkids?

3) What's your favorite TV show/movie/book/song?

4) What's your favorite/least favorite food? What's your favorite restaurant?

5) Who's your favorite band or singer, author, actor or actress?

6) Do you have any tatoos or piercings?

7) Whom do you admire, and why?

8) If you could meet anyone famous, who would it be and why?

9) What's your idea of a perfect day?

As Arnold would say, I'll be back!

I knew you wouldn't forget, DARN
and to top it all off my power is out at home
but I am using my phone to answer questions. So you guys better appreciate that
and I am starting to roast
because no air and it is ninety degrees! so I might be a bit crabby

1) How did you find the Cat Site? How long have you been a member? What brought you here?
I joined TCS in December, 2010 for feral cat support. I was in the process of trapping a family of cats in my neighborhood. The support I received was amazing and I have hardly missed a day of being on this site

2) Do you have any kids/grandkids?
Nope. Not yet. My daughter is twenty four.

3) What's your favorite TV show/movie/book/song?
My favorite TV show would be Desperate Housewives
. My favorite movie,
, I have so many, Lord Of The Rings. My favorite book is The Hobbit, JJR Tolkien. Favorite song is any Adam Lambert song, seriously, all of them

4) What's your favorite/least favorite food? What's your favorite restaurant?
I hate Lima beans and liver
. I love lasagna!!
. My favorite restaurant is Barley House. Great brewed beers and burgers. The chef is amazing. All the food is excellent

5) Who's your favorite band or singer, author, actor or actress?
love Led Zepplin and Heart. Singer is Adam Lambert
, he has the most incredible range in his voice, as you already know
. I love Johnny Depp, all of his movies.

6) Do you have any tatoos or piercings?
I have two tattoos on my back shoulder blades of angels around my dog Wilburs name. Both ears are doubled pierced.

7) Whom do you admire, and why?
I admire Betty White. I think she is an incredible woman inside and out. Funny actress and is also a strong presence as an animal activist and rescuer. I appreciate her deeply for the work she has done with cats and dogs and her charitable contributions.

8) If you could meet anyone famous, who would it be and why?
I would like to meet Oprah Winfrey. I also think she is the most generous woman with a HUGE heart
I never did go to any of her shows here in Chicago
but watched her for many years.

9) What's your idea of a perfect day?

Well, let's see. The weather would be in the sixties. Sunny with a nice breeze. I would have an enclosed deck or porch so my cats could be outside with me. Larry and I would play chess and sip margaritas. Oh and a view of a beach would be nice too, with no one on it though. Just sand and water

Thanks and those didn't stress me out too much
I just hope my power comes on soon, or my phone will die
and that would really blow
send power on vibes my way

Good, another perfectionist, so you DO know the pressure we put on ourselves
We never give up!!

I bet you think it is a likely excuse, and actually a good one
, but NOW my power is out
and I am stressing about that because you guys will think I am jumping ship
. My new phone is working as my wifi, but if my battery dies
captain cool will have me hanged

Oh the power's out... THAT'S a good excuse! Oh wait - you don't live in an RV with a generator... what's been up? Heat? Storms? Inquiring minds want to know!

There isn't a smiley for putting one's hand up in the air... another perfectionist here.
I can drive myself crazy. Making collages, knitting and sewing could be serious challenges.

And I LOVE Betty White!
What a woman.

...and I've never really played Chess! I know how the pieces move - but I really know nothing of the game. So ...

What other board games / card games do you enjoy?
Did your family play board games when you were a kid?
What were some of your favorites?
What board games do you have in the house?
