For the past year since October of 2010, my place was having roach problems. They were at first in the living from around the aquariums, until my sister and I clean the area really good and now we get little to no Roach activity. Now they all migrate to the kitchen. I hate the fact that we have to go out and by bug spray and traps on a regular bases to get rid of these guys. They keep coming back and I always see them everyday. Now this place is infested with Roaches, even if the kitchen is clean. >< It's getting too much now. Evey year people are moving in and out of the apartment because of a big pest problem in this place. I guess it just poorly maintence.

Do you guys think it's a good idea that we try to find a new place in the future( pet friendly of course)

Roach patrol is not your responsibility. The roaches will never go away until the building owners do a complete building treatment for roaches.

Contact your health department and report the roach problem. You spraying will do nothing because the roaches still are in other parts of the building and will keep coming back.

Gone are the days where they come in and use sprays where you literally had to remove everything from your cupboards and closets. Now there is a paste that is applied to the underside of drawers and in other discrete places. It hardens and keeps the roaches away.

Roaches are actually one of the cleaner insects, but it's the things that draw them in that make them unhygenic to be around.

Oh, and so you know. Even if you were to move, it's likely that you will be taking some roaches and/or their eggs with you to the new place. So it's important to get rid of them before you move.

It's your landlord's responsibility to take care of problems like that. If he/she isn't willing to correct the situation, they should be reported.

That's not necessarily true, Linda. I had a problem with roaches in the place I used to live in before moving to where I am now, because the landlords had roaches in their place and they were coming into my place from theirs (we were all on the same property). After I moved, I no longer had any problems with roaches.

Not sure if you know this since you didnt mention it but roaches hate catnip. Until the real issue gets solved, sprinkle catnip in your kitchen drawers to help keep them away.

Interesting data about the catnip!...
