Quick question about early scent exchange

I'm going to see Angel, my friend's new kitten (who I'll be adopting) in a few hours. I know it's inevitable that the kittens are going to smell her on me but I'm wondering, should I purposefully try to bring a towel or washcloth to rub her with so they'll smell her? It'll be about 2 weeks before I can bring her home. Would this be beneficial, harmful, or have no effect?

Thanks!

In my opinion if you will only be visiting your new kitten one time then it is not beneficial to do the scent mingling. But if you will be visiting the new kitten on a daily basis then I think the scent mingling could be very beneficial. Hope that was somewhat useful.

That would be a good idea to take a cloth with scents back and forth to get everyone acquainted early.

I have never had a problem with my cats smelling other cats on me. They are very interested, but never have taken offense.

I did end up taking a washcloth and giving Angel a rubdown. The boys didn't really react, except Garfunkel to try to attack/play with the washcloth but knowing him I seriously down it had to do with her scent,

I don't know if it did any good, but oh well lol!

Maybe if you do the scent mingling more often it might be more benefical . Or it might just make Garfunkel more playful .

I wish I could! I'd love to get some more time in with Joni at her current mom's house, but as a single mom with two kids, my friend is too busy to have me over all the time.

My friend thought the kitten was wild - after I met her I was kind of rolling my eyes and thinking... "You haven't met Sir Garfunkel the Insane." It's a treat, it's a q-tip, it's the carpet, it's a chair, it's the sofa, it's my phone, it's my hair, it's my glasses, it's a lamp, it's the trashcan, it's the toilet lid, it's the LITTER, it's ALL A TOY to him!!!!!! I love him so much!

I am guessing this is your Red and White domestic cat ? But the above description sounds like my nonstandard red spotted Savannah cat! See, I blamed Loki's insanity on him being a hybrid cat . Nope some domestic cats are as crazy ?
