New member questions!

Hello everyone! I'm a new member here, and have a few questions..

How do I gain privileges to upload an avatar and a signature? I searched the FAQ and it only said that you can upload one if the administrator has allowed it. Is there a special FAQ specfically for this site, or is it just a general FAQ of the forums?

Also, I put in my posts to change the color and font of my text, but it doesn't work when I have posted, is that something you gain as well?

PS. I hope this was the right place to put these questions! If it isn't please let me know!

I think a signature and avatar have to earned. . .like 100 posts or something like that. I think there's a list of these things--I'll look around.

For signatures and pre-loaded avatars, you have to be a member for one day and have 5 posts. For a custom avatar, you need to be a member for 120 days and have 700 posts.

I'm not sure about the colors, but I do know that many people don't like to read colored text. It's hard on the eyes!

Hi there. The FAQ is really about the forum software in general, as it applies to any forum. We have a number of threads that apply to TCS in particular, which will help you get your feet wet. Start with the stickies at the top of the New Cats on the Block forum. Also, there are stickies at the top of the Forums How-to ...forum, that go into a little more detail, particularly the ones on ... avatars, and on Points, the Bank and Shopping
