I put out birdseed for the smaller birds that were eating. (so much for the theory that these cats kill birds - mine RUN from them.)

Anyway, the gulls fly over when they see me and swarm in. There was one now there's about 8 after about a month actually. Very noisy and I feed the cats around 730 every morning - so I feel bad for my neighbors.

PLUS their eating the cat's food - leaving nothing for them

any ideas?

thanks!

I really would need more details before offering any specific ideas - but -

would you be able to put the food under or inside a box-like structure where the birds cannot enter, but the cats can ???

I have an underturned dog crate for my feeding shelter for my feral cats. The crows are terrible, much like your seagulls. But they don't like to go into a smaller opening like that so they are staying away now. I push the bowls way into the back of the shelter and it seems to be working. Also, I send my dogs out there a few times after the crows, and I think they are getting the picture...
Plus, when the crow gang comes around they are so darn noisy about their arrival, I just run out on my deck and give them the evil eye

Places like garbage stations, use a play-back of shrieks of scared or dying sea gulls.

I wonder if such is also possible to get for private persons.

Wow! Thats pretty heavy stuff (sounds of other dying birds?)

Thanks Ill try those things ALTHOUGH another solution walked into the situation... a peacock!

I have a zoo nearby. My neighbor called - somehow they know it isnt there.

He has scared the gulls away (hopefully for good) although the cats are now scared as well.

AH! First it was just tiny birds that were driving me nuts - who knew it would end (hopefully there wont be something else showing up) with a peacock!!
