I figured that I would start a new thread for this one.

You may or may not remember but Phoebe (momma cat) went back out to the neighborhood. Apparently she is a pretty well known little girl. She is now fixed, so no more litters
and I have found a couple people who know her and are happy to have her back in the neighborhood. (Insert wish for someone to adopt her) But she is doing well and was a COMPLETELY different cat once separated from her kittens. She is sweet, loving and I think would be good as an indoor cat, but oh well first things first. I need to find homes for her 5 kittens....oh WAIT!!!

I only have to find homes for 4 kittens now!! Orangeman found a home with a great family who has another older cat and an old dog. His new name is Cheddar!!! So excited! Please keep your fingers crossed for more good homes like this one for the rest of the kittens.

YAY for Cheddar! And what a cute name. Phoebe will be fine with all of those people looking after her outside. I have a feeling someone will come along sometime and take her in because she sounds too sweet to have to be an outdoor cat. Although, Hawaii would be my oicknto live outdoors
. All of the kittens are very pretty and I am sending more adoption vibes

yeah!!!! OJ, the second orange kitty has found a home!!! The foster family is going to keep him!!! Yeah!!!!

Bad news is that there is another momma in the neighborhood with 2 little ones, this time 5-6 weeks old. Uggh....here we go again! Will trap her on Friday and depending on the age of the kittens will pull them and send her back out after a spay.

Uggh.....anyone knows any fosters in HI????

It wasn't OJ that the fosters took, my mistake....it was Tiger Boy. Either way, I have 2 kittens adopted but still looking for homes for the other 3. Any suggestions on where else to post?

I have:

Emailed all my friends with the flyer
Sent flyer to 3 vet clinics
Petfinder.com
Craigslist.com
Facebook page for Hickham's Ten Lives https://www.facebook.com/pages/Hicka...s/194107928442

I am taking a flyer to the local fire station today but I am running out of ideas and time. The fosters leave for school Aug 1 and I don't have another foster for them. Please help.

Thanks, Terri

Many people are touched by sad fates, like, "rescued and thus I helped to save a life".

Other arent not so touchable, they want problem free, home raised kittens.

These here HAD been properly fostered, and you can quarantee they are behaving like anybody else, right?
Here you CAN also mention "on this forum I do participate on, they say they are look alikes abessynians" - "although they really are common short haired domestic cat." something like that.
For not so few persons it could work.

Ps I know they are moggies, etc, I had read your thread from the beginning.
Im talking what they are look alikes as this is a very common question on the breeders forums.
They have a found moggie and wants to know it if really a Main coon or whatever... YOU hadnt not asked, but I give you this answer anyway.

Good luck!

StephanZ,

I don't mean to sound dumb, but what is a moggie? Is that the cat equivalent of a mutt for a dog?

I don't know the lineage of any of the cats on the island, there is a little siamese that we trapped a while back, tons and tons of oranges (both male and female) running around here quite a few black ones. But I don't know anymore than that about the breeds of them. You think it would help if I tried to figure out the breeds?

Thanks.

A moggie is the most common of cats - ie cat without known ancestry. Called also "alley cat" in USA, "roof cat" in Poland, "peasant cat" in Sweden, and so on.
If you want to be polite you call them domestic cat.

And so are surely all the cats you are talking about, and thus, surely also your protegÃ[emoji]169[/emoji]es. Here, DSH, domestic short haired.

Yes, I think, if they are somewhat look alike a breed, it could help them if you mention they are look alikes, You dont need to say it yourself if dont want. You can say I did said that.

These yours with 99,99% probability are NOT abyssinians, nor even half abyssinians, but yes, I do believe they are look - alikes.
Abyssinians (I spelled wrong earlier) are often reddish, but there is also the "natural variation" where they looks grayish. And you had both.
If this, being called for abyssinian look alike, helps them to get homes, so why not use it?

A girl does use make up to easier find a husband, so whatsa matter?

a couple of links for typical abyssinians kittens:

http://www.catfacts.org/abyssinian-cat-facts-2.jpg
http://www.google.se/search?hl=sv&cl...og&sa=N&tab=wi

The last link was by googling on abyssians, and looking at the picture, not the web...

Good luck!

I see what you mean. If it looks like a specific breed, it might appeal to someone who wants that type of cat but may not be able to afford a pure-bred version of it. That is sneaky....but I LOVE IT! hahahahaaa What they look like and what they are may or may not be the same. But as long as I am honest and say that they have an Abyssinian look to them but that they are of unknown lineage, that might appeal to someone.

Thank you! I'll post the pics and see what people think they look like. I know what a Siamese, and a Himalayan (short pug nose with long hair, right?) look like, but nothing else. But throw a dog pic my way and I could give a pretty good guess at everything from a Karelian Bear Dog to a Basenji....hahahahahaa

Thanks, this dog-girl appreciates you cat people!

one hundred percent agree with Stefanz. And I also think those kittens look very close to the Abyssinian cat breed. Quite possibly true, and who is to know!!
. We do this at the shelter alot too. In fact we got a female cat in a few months back with her litter of kittens. The mother looked just like an Egyptian Mau and so did the kittens. So this was posted on the website and on her cage. She and her kittens were adopted quickly. Does help for some people, who care about that sorta of thing
and want to adopt a cat with some sort of lineage....... Good luck
